Congrats

Hello bloggers!  I selected milk card and cut the Lattice Window Striplet three times without the outer cutting edge to create a backdrop for the card.  I backed it with Blue Dusk card and matted it with a thin black mat.  For the focal element, I cut the Tessa die out of Blue dusk and matted it with black then cut the centre out of it.  I used my paper cutter to cut it in half and then take a bit off of the inside and then I put it back together so it would be smaller (I didn't want it to cover up too much of that background).  I stamped my sentiment in black on to milk card and cut the inside die from the Tessa to have it sit behind, just a bit of the detail peeks out between the sentiment and the smaller Tessa die cut.  I added mounting foam to raise it and placed it in the centre of the card.  Using the Orange Blossom open petals, I made three flowers and sugared them with Iced Snow.  I added a few of the leaves from the Blushing Rose set as accents.  Finally I completed the card with a milk card pierced mat, a thin Blue Dusk and thin black mat and a final milk coloured mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  30. Morning Sue.
As predicted, there is nowhere in my entire body that is happy that I put it through so much yesterday. There is NO way that I will let my body dictate to me when I can do what is needed to help our daughter when called upon, I've spent far too many of her growing up year's not being able to shop etc with her due to my failing body taking me into hospital, so now I'm determined not to listen to my body and give her and their new daughter all the time and help they need and take the consequences the following day, it's not like I have a marathon to run today, so with extra strong meds and an extra hour or so in bed until my magic potion works I have watched yesterday's tutorial, and as I was watching I thought that hopefully you will be doing more striplets in 4 pieces as they really are an added bonus to our collection. Due to finances being tight I have to pick and choose carefully what dies I buy and this little gem is one of the most useful I have, once you get started with it you'll be surprised how many designs you can do just by using the 1st outside die for apature use alone, so think no longer if you don't own the lattice window, go grab this little fella you'll be so glad you did.
And again yet another way to make a beautiful card with the same die, it's beautiful Sue.
Sending love, thanks and thoughts to you Sue, and hugs to my special friends. Thinking of you Tina E xxx

I'm with Nanna Tina, I keep moving this striplet up closer to the top of my wish list every time I see you use it. There are so many ways that it can be used. I'm thinking that if you only have one, this is the one to buy.
The flowers are beautiful, especially with their sparkly dusting. I think the next flowers for me will be the pansies though as they've stolen my heart.
No news on the amaryllis front today...apart from the fact that the flower stems are STILL reaching for the ceiling lol. The second stem is only about 6 inches shorter than the first one now and I think it may catch up before they both open...watch this space :)
I still have no idea who sent me the package so want to once again thank whoever my secret gifter is for such a wonderful surprise :)

Another stunning card from you. I am always amazed at your attendion to details on your creations. I have worked out my design for my Easter cards using your dies and your recessed technique. I am pleased with the result. I am also using on my Easter cards: your resist technique using wax on an embossed area then sponging color on this layer; and on the cut out piece to be recessed, I have applied a double sided sticky sheet and applied fine glitter between the area where the fall away pieces were after cutting the piece out. I am oh so happy with my card. I can now call my art room - the glitter room. Glitter is everywhere! Using your dies are so rewarding. Thank you for your inspirations that you share with us.

Oh my word what a treat - another card using the fantastic Lattice Window Striplet. I have made a few cards with this little gem but nowhere near getting below the tip of the iceberg. It's versatility knows no bounds.
21 more sleeps to go - can't wait. Sending warm hugs x
LAINE - saving up my insults until you return x
TRESSA - I hope playing with the die won. After all if the vacuuming is overdue then another day or two will not matter x
TRACY - Sue has this marvellous ability of leading us into temptation - you will love this die x
BEJAY - lovely as it is to receive a gift I know from experience that it will drive you bananas wondering who it is. About 4 years ago someone left a new Lorraine Pascale cookery book in my porch and still to this day I have no idea who it was x
BARBARA - oh these men are so narrow minded. They have no idea do they? We are so easily pleased - give us a small piece of metal and we can conquer the world. Good luck with winning hubby over x
SUZETTE - that damn glitter gets everywhere doesn't it? x
There are quite a few regulars missing today - sending you all lots of love. Too many names for me to list through fear of forgetting anyone important x
Finishing just in time for Emmerdale. Take care all - warm smiles and love to you all.

  124. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Apologies for being absent without leave these past two days but I have been restling with a mundinger of a migraine that resisted any attempts at eradication:-(. Almost back on full throttle now, just in time for the weekend. I have been admiring your cards from the past couple of days and they have been exemplary as usual, I like today's in particular because it always fascinates me when you chop into such perfectly formed designs and end up creating a thing of outstanding beauty....instead of a car crash like me that is only fit for recycling:-).....I love the colour choice, black really elevates a card for me. Your flowers are always so perfectly formed and it is my aspiration to create my own similar to yours...I can but dream!
No rest for the wicked today, no sooner had my migraine beat a retreat than I had an appointment to get my hair dealt with....I say dealt with because it doesn't always behave itself, sticking out instead of falling in delicate waves.....my hairdresser deserves a medal, I made the HUGE decision to change from the one I had went to for over twenty years because it was getting to the stage where I cried when I got home and looked at what he'd done, not a good sign. Having had various variations of a bob in all that time I made the bold decision to cut it all off....besides, long hair on an older lady is less striking than an edgy cut.....and it was a revelation! Not quite as short as the no. 1 all over I had in 1990 when Sinead O'Connor was all the rage but getting there, very liberating.
Thought I would put my feet up with Jeremy Kyles Emergency Room....it has to be seen to be believed.....when I got home but best laid plans.....a delivery man brought our new light fitting and whilst he handed it through the door out scoots Brodie at supersonic speed. It's been many years since I could move that quickly so I was reduced to shuffling behind with a bag of Dreamies in hand trying to coax him close enough to lift...it turns out he doesn't like them as much as I thought because it took me an hour to persuade him home again! Jeremy Kyle was over and my Mum was snoring loudly on the couch dead to the world- Brodie got a dish of prawns for being such a good boy coming home all by himself....what diet?
I've recieved my set of Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and I can't wait to put them to good use, my dear friend Yvonne has sent me some stamped images to play with in a vain attempt at discouraging me from bankrupting myself buying new stamps so I'm going to have loads of fun releasing the inner child in me over the weekend when I have a play:-)
Pam, condolences on your recent anniversary, the passage of time doesn't really diminish the pain ,only makes it more bearable. Hugs to youxxx
Theresa and Jess, belated happy birthdayxxxx
Yvonne, wot no insults? I am disappointed, I thought better of you than that! My self esteem is in danger of resurfacing as a result ,and do we really want to suffer those particular consequences?it doesn't seem appropriate to attack you when your defences are down, I'm a lady and it just wouldn't be cricket:-)besides, I don't want to be distracting you from stamping out more images for me to colour.....xxxx
    Lorraine, hope you're feeling betterxxxx
Barbara, trying to get a man to understand the health benefits of buying steel dies , inks and glitter is a task I don't envy you. Perhaps reminding him of the mutual benefits of a contented Barbara would help.......xxxx
Alison, so glad Scamp is recovering well, let's hope that the cage can be given the heave Ho soonxxxx
Hugs to Beth, P, Maria, Rebecca, Theresa, Wheely Bad, Tracy, melody, Linda and anyone in need of a cuddlexxx

  130. Hi Sue. This is a gorgeous card as usual using your striplet die. I really must get another one of these as they are just so versatile. I found the strength to cut up a die today which took a lot of courage! Proud of myself afterwards and pleased with the result. Thanks for your inspiration. X

  132. Hi Sue

My favourite striplet plus black and that luscious blue dusk cardstock, is good enough to keep me happy let alone all the rest of the loveliness! Absolutely stunning.

Been having issues with posting on Blogspot last few days... So hoping I won't have the issue today but already I've not been able to post on John's blog so... Fingers crossed. As a result of that and the fact that it's bed time I'm going to keep this brief today and I'll catch up properly over the weekend.

Sending big hugs to all of you and wishing you all a fabulous, crafty weekend. Extra special hugs to Tina E and her family and to everyone else who needs a little extra TLC for what ever reason.
