Happy Valentines Day! Although today's card isn't a Valentines card, it does have hearts so I thought it would work nicely for today's post. I chuckle every time I look at this card because it started out as just something I used to make part of the card that is shown at the very bottom of the post. I was using this piece of card to get the fall away pieces for my shaker card! I just thought it was too pretty once it was all cut and decided to make another card out of it! I cut the Heart of Hearts die four times without the outer cutting edges. I stamped my sentiment on the top and bottom portion of the card in black Archival ink. The top part of the sentiment is actually only part of that particular sentiment too, I trimmed off the "Best Wishes" part and just used the Today and forever portion. I added mounting foam to the back of this piece to raise it for dimension. On another piece of card, I added sticky adhesive sheet bits behind where the hearts were cut out. I coated them with Fire Red Polished Silk Glitter for maximum bling. I centred the top cut out piece over the glittered background, then added my final pierced mat, a red mat and another white mat to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size. You can see the original card that I made using the cut outs at the bottom of the post too if you are interested.

Sorry your meds don't seem to help anymore Linda. I wondered about mine until I dropped 10 mg to try and help my brain function and boy do I know it.

ReplyDeleteGood morning sue,
ReplyDeleteHappy valentines day all, this is one of my favourite cards, just loved it when I first saw it, haven't been able to give it a go yet, don't own the die as yet, but won't be long, have had loads of fun over the last few weeks watching some of the older videos and using some of the die I have had for a while.
Take care, hugs pat xx

ReplyDeleteTwofer day, thank you Sue they are GORGEOUS and they would make a fab wedding card done in all white, thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI was having terrible trouble trying to cut the filigree buckle die and then I read a post on the Sue Wilson Facebook page about rubbing the die with a dryer sheet, oh my goodness what HUGE difference it makes the bits even all fell out when I tapped it on the table so thank you America Kuhn for that tip.
Congratulations to all the winnners of the comments posts, well done.
Keeping those bereaved and ill in my daily thoughts. Hugs Johanna

Hi Sue.
ReplyDeleteTwo beauties today. I have a little box set aside to collect all my heart's and I just know they will be so useful at some stage. Didn't make my usual card this year, my heart - if you pardon the pun just isn't into crafting just yet, but I had 3 lovely dies today from my special Valentine, as you said Sue "he's a keeper" lol
We enjoy spoiling each other especially when we are both so low at the moment. Due to our recent pain being so similar Sue, I can't help but wonder how you are doing every day, those waves can be so high sometimes can't they ?
So on that note, I will send my love.
Lancashire Steph xxx ❤

Hi Sue. Happy Valentines Day to everyone. Todays cards are beautiful. They both tick all my boxes and to think the first card was made from the waste to make the second card. Both cards are beautiful. I really like the shaker card. I've been trying my hand at shakers too, but certainly nothing as beautiful as this one. I must get that lattice bar to add to my collection - it's just lovely and so versatile. Happy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteLove both of today's cards, but my favourite might even be your waste card Sue! Love the clean lines & the red hearts really stand out on the White card, but then again the red, white &a black one looks very elegant!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners.Take care Sue.
2 lovely cards. Can't choose between them. Happy Valentines day xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteBoth of these cards are lovely - just goes to show nothing is every wasted so shouldn't be thrown away - you never know.....
Beverley W
Hi Sue. Two lovely cards, and it just shows what we can make with the waste card that we normally throw away.xx
ReplyDeleteAfternoon Sue, two beautiful cards, and a great way to us the both the cut-outs and the waste. Have done the same with butterfly dies and the waste.
ReplyDeleteWendyx
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteGreat cards and to make a second card from the left overs,as none of us like waste very economical.
Stunning cards Sue. Definitely good for Valentines cards.
ReplyDeleteLove Val in Spain x
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteWhat great cards. I bought this die a while ago and saved it to make my husband's card for today, as I thought it was really versatile. Now we have two more ideas from you - as always, so brilliant.

Great looking card....very nice...tfs
ReplyDeleteHello Sue
ReplyDeleteLove both of these cards but to use the waste is awesome. I love to recycle any left overs I have in my craft room as well.

So very prettY!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, two lovely cards for us today. Thanks for giving us the incentive to use our fall a away pieces.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all today's winners.
Take care everyone, Jess xxx
Lovely cards, is Jonh rubbing off on you or is he copying your ideas, of making cards from left overs, the left over card is so lovely, that it's hard to believe it started that way, it's just another day to me, single for another year, don't think I will count how many it has been though! Love to you and your family this valentines though Sue xxxx
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines to all. Both lovely cards, although I actually prefer the one made from the waste! Clean and simple - just my style, Susan x
ReplyDeleteHi Sue I am sitting in our hotel in Iceland typing ( just showing off). Your cards are stunning both of them. I do love the heart of hearts die set I have used it twice already and I can see myself using it much more. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteSue, you are one clever lady with "beaucoups" of ideas. Thank you for sharing your creative process with those of us who follow you. Now when I die cut a design, I have to stop and look closely to see if I can use any part of the "throw away" pieces for another project. And, you have inspired me to die cut into a larger piece of card stock so I can use the aperture for a frame on another card. I think I like the first card even better than your original idea.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day! How appropriate are today's lovely examples of Sues brilliance. I particularly love the shaker card, not least because it features my adored buckle bar, but also because it utilises all the unused bits from card one. The heart die is truly beautiful and if only I had a Valentine myself I would be more than delighted to send one of these beauties.
Having a quiet day today trying to read my book Angels in my Hair by Lorna Byrne in the hope that it will focus my mind on the positives of life and the afterlife- I guess we look for comfort wherever we can at times like these and the thought that my Dad is with my grandparents now helps.
Stephanie, I am so sorry for your loss too....I hope that I'm not getting the wrong impression but when you speak of grief coming in waves it feels like you have recent experience. Sue is in my thoughts a lot too at this time as she rides the storm also.
Yvonne, on a far lighter note, you achieved the impossible yesterday and made me chuckle with mirth over the vision of you dressed as an oompah loompah:-) I don't know if I would have been slightly disturbed at Jakes apparent enthusiasm at dressing in drag as Fat Pat...surely this guise would have been more suitable for yourself given your shady track record, enough said!.....I would keep a close eye on my wardrobe from now on because this is a fetish that could spiral out of control very easily:-) I do hope that you enjoyed your night though and behaved with propriety and decorum lest my good opinion of you suffer. I can guess that you will be tired but happy today and your exertions were worth the effortxxxx
Pam, Maria, thanks for your kind thoughts regarding my Dad, I really appreciate the sentiment and it helps more than you realisexxx
Linda, hope you're okay sweetie, cutting meds can be tough, I'm reducing my tramadol at the moment cos they're highly addictive, it's a slow process so be careful to do it gradually so that the withdrawals are minimalxxx
Sending love and hugs to my special buddies Beth, deb c, Tracy, Lorraine, Rebecca, jan, Theresa, Saba and anyone else I may have neglected to mention. Special thoughts to those in pain and suffering.
Love and hugs
Laine1972xxxx

of course it's too pretty to throw away and it became a 2 for 1. that is what John Lockwood always says to do. you listen i see, lol!!! hugs xx
ReplyDeleteLove it! And the one you meant to make too ;)
ReplyDeleteI saw a quick appearance of the 4 hearts card on TV, and have been using the idea for silver wedding anniversary cards ever since (seems everyone in the family is celebrating 25 years of marriage). Then today I did it in red for a Valentine themed swap - but I used the words Forever Friends, as it was for a card swap not for my true love.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue and all your crafty crew
ReplyDeleteWell I love the two cards you have shared with us all today
And Happy Valentines Day to you
I love both cards but have to say that the second one is my favourite one do like the buckle dies
Congratulations to all the winners
Hugs to you Sue
And to anyone else that needs one
Theresa G. xx
Both cards are really great. Never waste anything!!!!! Xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Sue!
ReplyDeleteLove the fact that it has been made out of the waste from the first card. This die was one of my first buys as I love the design.
I love the fact that this was not the card that you started out to make. I seem to do this all the time, some times it really works great and others not so much!!!! This weekend I made the Faux Leather card (the one with the masking tape) I didn't have the colored wax that you used so I just used inks to do almost the same thing. It turned out okay, but I will have to get the Cosmic Shimmer waxes and see if there is a difference. Thanks for your wonderful ideas!! Congrats to the winners.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteTwo brilliant cards today - love both of them. Thinking of you xx
Laine you are in my thoughts and prayers xx
Wheely hope you're feeling better today xx

Well done you lucky winners

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing your heart cards when you were last on Hochanda, I thoroughly approve of any attempt to use the waste from a die, as its "good for the planet" and quite a lot of fun doing jigsaw-y things and shakers. I like the cards but it's not the sort I make at all.
Extra special hugs to you Sue and to others who are grieving, I'm thinking of you all xxx
Congratulations to the comment game winners xxx
Alison (Alimecca) and Lynda, very big hugs to you both xxx
Today was pretty good, Got a little crochet done and have been sat up for at least half the 12hr day day, head now hurting and seeing in twos but very tired now so I'm going to get Billy sorted and go to bed. Wishing everyone a great new week, sending hugs to everyone with lots of extra in case you need one. Help yourself!

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteI love both these cards as I absolutely adore everything that is heart shaped whatever it may be.
Great that you got 2 for 1 out of your card stock which makes for a very savvy crafter..
They are both beautiful.
