  52. Two new techniques to me today for which many thanks. The tissue technique for the background is very effective and the variety of colours available means that it could be repeated but never copied. The template method is so useful and I can't think why I never thought of this when trying to cut out stamped poinsettia flowers on which I have used gilding flakes - this is so helpful to me. A tip-laden Saturday morning, thank you for that.

  86. Good morning dearest Sue and the happy band of Wilsonettes,
Oh Sue, what a bonnie card that you have made for our delight today. It is so pretty in the background with the colours of tissue paper that you have used, so soft and dreamy like that you could drift off into the dream that it creates. This is one that i really will try to do as although it is not the clean, definite, crisp lines that i normally go for and looks more in the shabby chic that everyone seems to talk about, it is just so bonnie and as i say dream like. And just for a change the now i will be able to replicate it with the dies at least as the background might be a challenge for me. Thank you flower for such a bonnie, bonnie card and the dream like place that it takes you to. Hugs sent to you by special hug post just to keep you company and so that you know someone is thinking off you.
Well today is one of those wet and not nice days that you wish you just go away again as i think we have all seen enough of it. I wonder if you poor folks down south of the border will be hit with a hosepipe ban again this year, as the way their minds work i wouldn't be a bit surprised.
Well yesterday Mum's home was transferred into the hands of it's new owners there by ending 30 odd years of being my family home. I know that it needs to be loved and lived in again but it was still a bit heartbreaking yesterday as it just seemed so final in letting me wake up to the fact that they are gone. However the bairns that bought it are the wedding duo from the start of October namely my special neice and her husband. She just has next door to go and see her Mum, and i was at his mum's house last night when she was telling me she had been down to see it. Margaret has fallen in love with the conserveratory and it's size and just the size of the garden that is still there despite the conserveratory taking up 13' of it, it's still 48' long after that. Margaret was telling me just all the things she did like about what we had done and can't understand her son wanting to paint the beautiful new satin wood window frames or some off the other changes going through his mind but hey, they need to put their own stamp on their new home, not someone else's. So with that i will leave you all with hugs to all Wilsonettes that really need them or could use them, they are there for the taking.
    love and crafty hugs

  87. WOW!!! What a brilliant experiment, Sue. I have to say that all mine end up in the bin, not on a wonderful video!!
The finished card is stunning and what a lovely size as well.
For once I have plenty of tissue in my craft room. I went out on Thursday and bought myself a new ceramic frying pan as my old one had non-stick flaking off everywhere. Because of being charged for carrier bags now, the hardware shop has a pile of A3 sized tissue sheets by the till and they wrap things up in that. I ended up with about TEN sheets around my little pan, so I've got LOADS to play with now...and the pan is great for pancakes as I don't have to add any oil or butter to it before cooking...a win, win situation all round :).
I think I'm going to have fun over the weekend as I love 'messy' crafting :)

  90. Good morning dearest Sue and her lovely Wilsonettes!

What an immensely beautiful card, the background technique is inspired. I have never used tissue in this way, I must give it a try. Love the colour palette, so bright, cheery and lush, just what I need on a dull, snowy morning. The embellishments add that perfect finishing touch as well. Thanks for yet more stunning ideas Suexxxx
I'm afraid my post yesterday was rather premature, I thought that my Dad was improving but unfortunately he developed sepsis and passed away yesterday......I'm still in shock, even though he was struggling you still cling on to the hope that they will pull through, sadly it wasn't to be this time. Hopefully he will be at peace now, his injuries were too severe but 69 is a relatively young age to pass nowadays. I can really appreciate first hand what Sue is going through now unfortunately, it is a pain that I wouldn't wish upon anyone and my thoughts continue to go out to her and her loved ones through their struggle.
I've had to cancel my little get together tonight, it's too soon to contemplate socialising even though it may have helped to talk I'm not ready yet...I guess my liver can breath a sigh of relief:-)
Yvonne, enjoy your party tonight, I think a Cruella de Ville costume would be appropriate under the circumstances don't you? Losing Steve at such a young age must still be painful, at least I had an extra twenty years with my Dad so I shouldn't complain. I hope you have a great time sweetie, you deserve itxxxxx
Thanks for all the kind well wishes for my Dad I really appreciate them.

  107. Afternoon dear Sue.
What a pretty card with yet another Sue Wilson trial background, why do my experiments end up as recycled paper lol I know, it looks experimental, where as your work always looks planned out, you're soo clever. I will watch the experiment once mad dog has gone to school so I have some peace !!
I was planning on trialling out some 'idiot' proof hot foiling without the expense of the specialist machines (Debbie Stevens fault ) lol but my little craft store doesn't stock foils - so it's over to you Pat Lol sorry.
So I have tissue paper and some Colour Clouds, maybe I can have a bash at that instead a little later.
in the meantime I will send you gentle cuddles Sue and say I'm thinking of you.

Jan in LI, gentle hugs after your root canal.
Barbara, have fun with all your new dies and colour clouds. They are fun to use.
Yvonne, I am sure Jake will choose you a marvellous outfit. You are such a good sport. Have a great time.
Linda, I could never get on with tramadol so certainly don't blame you kicking that one. Do you not feel the benefit of your meds anymore?
Jackie, have a wonderful time in Iceland. I don't do cold but otherwise it's a place I would love to visit.
Still tired out from last week. I am torn between crafting and playing video games. I think the crafting needs to win as I have new dies :)

Wow this is gorgeous. I adore the background it's so beautiful. Your floral arrangement is so pretty. Thank you for showing how to make the template (it seems so obvious when you know how to do it, doh). Thanks for sharing.

    Congratulations Chaffinch.

  120. Gorgeous textured background layer to this card. Love how tactile it is with the blend of great colors. Gotta try this! Thanks for the video. So glad you showed us how to do the template. I needed this technique for my Valentine cards. It would have made my crafting time a breeze instead of the challenging time I created on each Valentine card I made trying to cut precisely in the same spot on three layers of card stock! My prayers for peace for you.

  121. Hi Sue

2 experimental techniques in 2 days. I have lots of tissue paper hanging about too so this one will be pinned for later. The colours are very pretty, quite pastel. I hope you're OK Sue, hugs to you and your family xxx

Laine, it must still be a dreadful shock for you. 69 is no age, you're right. The only blessing is that your dad is no longer suffering. Sending you a big hug and a hand to hold XXX

Yvonne, enjoy your night out xxx

    Congratulations Chaffinch xxx

Tracy, hope you're feeling OK, hugs xxx

Sorry, I have not read back yesterday's comments. Was in bed all day in dark glasses with wicked migraine. Brace on all day today and self limiting my time on a screen, just in case! New brace so we'll see but happy with it so far.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, hugs to you all with extra if you need them,

So beautiful Sue. I have tried this technique but not made any cards with it yet. The colour I did was much darker but this colour is absolutely beautiful. Lots of love and hugs to you Sue x
Congratulations Chaffinch- enjoy your Sue work of art x
LAINE - I am so sorry about your dad. 69 is still so young these days. Even when we know that it is a waiting game when we get that call it is still a huge shock and so hard to believe. No more suffering but an emotional roller coaster for those left behind. Try and remember him with a smile and laughter if you can and hold on to the happy memories. I am sending you a great big hug and also a touch of sarcasm and put downs just to keep you grounded. Lots of love hun x
Just to lighten the mood - if that's ok - I thought I would share something that has really caused a huge amount of laughter today to the point of my incontinence rearing it's ugly head. Jake's trip to the fancy dress shop was successful and he returned with 3 costumes - one for each of us. A bottle of hot sauce, an oompa loompa and a questionable but rather amusing outfit called a Fat Pat stripper!!! I took a moment to try and imagine myself dressed as Pat and began to investigate how effective the orange face paint was going to be and how we would contend with Jake's beard in the process of making him as oompa loompa like as possible. Then came the bombshell. The oompa loompa outfit was mine - Pat the stripper was for Jake - my 24 year old 6 foot tall, bearded, strapping son. After I got over the shock and he put on the long brunette (with a hint of red) wig and the red feather boa and questioned me as to whether or not I had any red lipstick the laughter began. We have got progressively more hysterical as the day has passed. I am now beginning to wonder if there is a cause for concern as when Jake tried on his black opaque tights he confessed that he felt free for the first time in his life and believed that he had found his true self. Lol.
So I will shortly be putting on my hair net, painting my face bright orange and donning a bright emerald nylon wig - I have always been a classy bird - and from the sound of things so has Jake - my first born son x
Ok fellow Wilsonettes - signing off - sending you all lots of love.
