Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there crafters!  Here is the card giveaway for offer this week.  It is a pretty silver and white number that I tried to demonstrate during my last shows.  I say "tried" as it didn't go quite as planned, but that's what happens sometimes at the end of a long day! LOL  The card that will be posted out is be the original shown here.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and using the Crisscross mask, I spread Silver Moon sparkle texture paste through it and allowed it to dry.  I used the oval from the Lattice Snowflake to cut a small aperture in the upper corner.  I embossed another piece of white card with the Let It Snow embossing folder.  I added mounting foam to raise the aperture piece and attached it over the embossed piece.  I cut the Happy Christmas die out of vintage silver card three times and stacked them together.  I sprayed them with glue then coated them with Silver Chrome polished silk glitter and attached it across my aperture.  In the lower corner opposite, I cut and layered two large Filigree Poinsettias out of silver card.  I used two each and offset them, but sprayed and glittered them with Silver Chrome glitter first before assembling.  I seated them on white tulle and added Holly Sprays around them as accents.  I completed the card by paper piercing the edge of a coconut white mat.  For the next mat, I added double sided sticky tape to the edge and glittered it with Silver Chrome, then added a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  Please leave me a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

  6. Hi Sue. It's not until you see the brilliant close up or read through how you made up this beautiful card that you realise it's a mask that you've used and it's gorgeous.
None of my cards end up how I've planned them in my mind, and if mine turned out as lush as this I'd be well chuffed !
Have a lovely day whatever your day brings Sue.

  15. Morning Sue, oh my goodness what a fantastic card today, I saw you doing something like this on TV and it spurred me to order the masks.........now what did I do with it...............I bet your craft room is not as bad as mine..............anyway onwards and upwards. I am going to keep the instructions for this and try to replicate it, mind you mine will probably end up a right mess but I am determined to try.

I am going to the NEC on Sunday so will see John, Phill and not sure if you will be there but would be great to see you again, I missed not going to Ally Pally this year.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

What a lovely card for me to return to after being absent from your blog for a few days. Everything about this card is faultless. Gorgeous soft colour enhancing your fabulous dies to perfection.
I would have no problem taking delivery of this card if it helps your decision as to who should be the winner x
Raining and cold today so I hope you are having better luck with your weather x
Been away for a few days after helping my mother in law with her 'filing'. She has been trying to sort out an ongoing problem with the council which has involved providing numerous bits of paperwork. Unfortunately she has become quite distressed about this 'harassment' as she calls it. This should have been a very simple situation to deal with but sadly she asked someone to help her who is as much use as a chocolate fireguard!!!
The result of this assistance is that some paperwork has gone missing and the rest of it being in total disarray. In my wisdom I agreed to put the offending paperwork into some sort of order to make life easier. (I am well known for being a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to filing). However , if I had known the mess that I was going to come face to face with I may have given more careful consideration to my premature and cheery proposal of help.
Anyway - the mess that was has now been filed, numbered and date ordered in military style and is now in my possession until the problem is resolved. E mails have been sent to relevant parties and the ball is now rolling to conclude the stress that my mother in law has caused herself unnecessarily. I, on the other hand was tearing my hair out and wore myself out!!!
Easy day today - in pj's I think. Miserable outside so candles rubbish tv and dozing are on the menu. Jeremy Kyle will receive my undivided attention - the best comedy programme on the box - and it makes me feel incredibly superior and my life looks positively problem free.
Not caught up on comments yet but can try and incorporate that into my busy schedule today.
    Love to everybody
    Crafty hugs

  147. Hi Sue & All The Wilsonettes, I hope you're all well & that the weather is not too bad, where you live? It is absolutely freezing here in Rosemarket (near Milford Haven in Wales)! Unfortunately I haven't been able to go out for nearly two weeks (& I am tearing my hair out!), as I am in a wheelchair & our wheelchair accessible car has been 'on stop', plus my Mother has flu & can't go out, at the moment! I have been keeping my fingers crossed that I didn't have to go into hospital to have bladder stones removed (AGAIN!), as I would've had to have an ambulance Hopefully, I will be able to go out at the weekend!Anyway, you don't want to hear my grizzles! Sue, your card is absolutely beautiful & looks so clean! I hadn't thought of grey & white, for a Christmas card, but it works! Well done! Best wishes, Mary Blight XXX

  149. Silver and white card is beautiful. I love the texture of the card. I've just tried using the sparkle paste and I love the look. The aperture with greeting is a nice element as well. And of course the Pointsettias are beautiful. I have the three sets of Pointsettia dies and the stamp which I love! The stamp works well on vellum. Have a great day.

  158. Hi Sue,

A gorgeous card that I would have no hesitation in finding a special place for, as would many others.

Rather late in the day for me to leave my comment, have spent the morning in the Breast Care centre for my follow up mammogram and chat with my consultant. After he had studied the test, results came back, still all clear and 'I'll see you next year'. A huge sigh of relief. Just what I needed to hear!!!

Molly my dear, I'm so sorry to read Grandad is in hospital. They will take very good care of him for you. A gurt big squashy (((hug))) is flying on it's way to you. When you catch it, wrap your arms around your shoulders and squeeze, now you have my hug, I wish I could give you one in person.

Tracy, hope your recovery is going well? Daily hugs for you.

    Love & hugs to all
    Cheryl xxx

  180. Good evening lovely Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes!

What a humdinger of a card, one of my favourites this year. It incorporates some of my favourite techniques, grouting being one of them- a mere two weeks ago I hadn't been brave enough to use my texture paste, but now....well, half my Christmas cards incorporate it and I'm sure more will follow. I also love the aperture with the embossing peeking out from beneath. The colour choice is very effective, I particularly like the silver filigree poinsettias, they sparkle beautifully. Whilst it goes without saying that I could provide this little baby with a loving home, I am realistic that, based upon my previous 'success' rate if I want to see it in person I will have to recreate it myself to the best of my ability.
Luckily I have the dies and a similar EF and I have ordered the criss cross mask so I am good to go. The lucky recipient will be my friend Gill who has a list of requirements as long as my arm- she only likes traditional Christmas cards that use Happy(NOT Merry!) Christmas on them so this would be perfect. I have been tutoring her on how to do your cards Sue, much less professionally of course, and we are due to have another session next week. She didn't believe that she could create something so beautiful but you break it down so well that even an idiot like myself can follow:-)
Like most of the UK the weather in Stirling has been abysmal today, dark, damp and depressing- I resisted the urge to go back to bed....I had a seizure again during the night....and decided to redo the card that Brodie maliciously defaced. I had tried to salvage it by taking it apart and using most of it before gluing it back together but unfortunately it warped beyond repair. I whizzed through it as my Mum kindly ironed my bedding, we were in the kitchen listening to Radio Two- she refused to change the channel saying it was 'her stereo'...an early Christmas present from her doting daughter....so I had to suffer a special show from Nashville featuring country music, YUK! Anyway, Brodie was nowhere to be seen as I soldiered on, I reached the critical stage of creating the faux pearl background with white PVA glue and low and behold he appeared out of thin air intent on sabotaging my work again! Luckily a cat-a strophe was avoided apart from a few stray cat hairs as my Mum manhandled him away throwing a smoothie in his direction so that I could carry it to safety, phew!
Yvonne, my guilty pleasure isn't as Neanderthal as Jeremy Kyle, I like a bit of escapism come an afternoon taking time to watch A place in the summer sun-having no money to my name due to a die and glitter fetish, I can only dream of buying a property in sunnier climes but I enjoy spending my imaginary lottery winnings nonetheless:-)
You are a kind hearted soul underneath that barbed, prickly exterior dear, helping your mum in law was truly selfless so you certainly deserve a duvet day in the company of Mr Kyle- my mum is equally disorganised and has various drawers and carrier bags of documents/bank statements from the past ten years....she even brought two bags of it with her when we moved five years ago!...I have the job of periodically organising it but I'm banging my head against a brick wall if I'm honest, she's not going to change at 71, is she?
Tracy, thinking of you and hoping that tomorrow brings some good news, best of luckxxx
Melody and Molly, hope Francis is on the mend cos he's been trying so hard, love and hugs to you both and your lovely familyxxx
Lorraine F, June and everyone travelling to the NEC this weekend, hope you have a fab time and get to meet the CE team. I would bankrupt myself if I went anywhere near a craft fair at the moment, I have limited my purchases with Christmas looming, hopefully Santa will leave a few in my stocking since I am being so saintly, restrained and selfless, putting my loved ones happiness first:-)
Have a lovely evening everyone, I'm off to watch The Apprentice for a gigglexxxx

    Crafty hugs,

    Laine1972xxx
