Framed Fancy Background
Hi crafters! Using a single small configurations die, you can make an entire background. It looks great when paired up with the Double Pierced Square Nobles to make a pretty frame.
.Beautiful card Sue, it's lovely. Molly you are a wise little girl, enjoy your Hochanda shares whether they make you a millionaire or not. Jan from Long Island, we all love this blog too. Daily hugs to Melody, Francis and Tracey, keep it going gang. Keep safe and well everyone.
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a beautiful rich colour you have used for this fantastic card today, I will be watching the video when hubby gets up, and then will have a play. When are your new dies coming out Sue, it must be soon.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

The colours are lovely too I am going for some spoil the grandchildren time in Sydney tomorrow, hopefully will still find time to check your blog, even if it is at midnight lol !!! Muriel x
Morning Sue. This is a beautiful card. The rich plum colour card is gorgeous and teaming it with the milk card makes it a very rich looking card. I have both the square and rectangle noble dies and i wonder what i did before you brought them out as i use them all the time. Very versatile dies. Take care everyone. Best Wishes. Denise T x
Hi Sue. Gorgeous card, it's hard to believe that the background is made from one little die, it's so intricate. Will save the video for after work when I can really enjoy it. Hugs to all. Sue XXX

Morning Sue, A stunning card today, I love the colour combination too. I'm not sure if I will get any crafting done this week, l'm babysitting most of the week. Then am too tired afterwards to do anything. Have a lovely day. Maggie
Hello Sue! Lovely card, and I can't imagine not having the Squares, and Rectangles anymore, they sit by my Calibur all the time! Thank you Sue for designing them. After Spellbinder stopped the large Dies, if you hadn't bought them, then you were up the creek ! But not anymore!!!!! and they are PIERCED! Hooray! I'm off to watch and take notes from the Video! Take care Love Marg
Good morning Sue What an exquisite card, the background is gorgeous and had me fooled once again lol! I thought it was one of border dies until I watched the video. This is the only configuration die that I don't have but its on order and should be here this week. Your configuration dies are so clever and work with all our dies I'm using them on my Christmas cards to 'pretty up' dies I've had for years. I love the colour of the cardstock you've used and must get some. Hugs x Heather T
Morning Sue, a very regal card today, which would look great in other colours as well. Like others have said. What did we do before the noble dies. I only have the square ones at the moment (Santa please take note) but I do tend to make a lot of square cards, they give more time for playing and less on wonky measuring. The configuration dies are brilliant too, so much you can do with them. You are one cleaver lady.
A truly opulent card today, that rich burgundy is so pretty and the frames just set off the card brilliantly.
Warm thoughts for Tracy, Melody & Francis. I hope your day becomes kinder for you.
Well done Molly for getting your Hochanda shares, that is a very sensible thing to do, I hope you will get more pleasure every time you watch their programmes, all the time knowing you own a piece of all the action. Warm fuzzy comfort blanket ((((hugs)))) to all in discomfort, pain or loss.
Morning Sue, Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, a fabulous card and loving the double pierced dies. Off to watch the 'how to' now. Lots of love from Patricia xx

Hi Sue, me again, I just had to comment after watching your video, you are a genius, that background is fabulous, I don't know how you come up with these techniques, absolutely fabulous. Lots of love from Patricia xx
My immediate reaction on seeing your finished background was that it was overly busy, but then......... As you started to put it together then added the inner frame and sentiment it suddenly popped, it was no longer busy but beautiful. The colour combination is gorgeous. Thanks.
Hi Sue Thank you for another wonderful inspirational video. The background is like putting a jigsaw together which is really clever. A really stunning card Sue Take care Hazel G XX

Morning, Sue, Hi everyone. I adore the colours used on today's card, Sue and the pierced frames are to die for! I think my biggest craft 'fault' is that I continuously fail to think out of the box so never seem to come up with great ideas to try with my dies. I feel like writing out 100 lines...I must try harder...I must try harder LOL. Right, off to watch the video, oh, before I do...is it only me or do others sometimes have a problem getting the video to full page from the blog link? Sometimes I have to go direct to YouTube to enable me to utilise the full screen option. Bejay x

Sue, I love today's card and your use of one die to make the background. The double pierced frames are another need. I paper pieced with the eternal rings yesterday. I cut three into a panel and then filled in. Fantastic effect, thanks again. Tracey, I am glad you find the arnica helpful. I hope you are less sore today. Your poor Mum hope she is safe for a while. Linda, you will have to let me know how to recognise you. I have uploaded an up to date photo. Laine, heartfelt sympathies for the awful headaches you suffer. Sarah, how wonderful to have a craft room. I will get one when my youngest moves out but I don't want her to go so it's a double edged sword. Melody and Francis, I continue to send you positive and loving vibes. Well it's another grey old day here again, my daughter has a friend over so I will craft at the table whilst they play video games or watch movies. Wishing good things to all
Hi there Sue. Gorgeous card today. Just love what configuration dies I own unfortunately your large peicered dies may never be part of my collection due to finances but that's life, have to cut our clothes accordingly these days ! Will watch the video later when I know I will stay awake to watch it as my morning has been dashing from one appointement to another and I'm popped with no concentration and my mojo has been completely squished !! How can we own so much card, and have a collection of dies but not ideas in our mind's, but that's the point where I'm at, I'm so mentally shattered that I walk into my 'lady den' and walk straight out again !! So for now I will continue to love and admire what you have for us and hope my own interest returns soon. Whatever your plan's for the day, hope you have a warm sunny one (unlike up North where it's thick dirty looking fog) : ( Sending hugs. Lancashire Steph xx
Hi Sue Beautiful card today!!! I have been checking by the blog but it's been awkward as I'm having an extension at home and let's just say it's been chaos!!! It'll be worth it in the end I'm sure! Just thought I'd explain in case you thought I'd abandoned you (or you probably didn't even notice with so many of us bloggers!!!) Love Sam xxxx
Hello Sue, Sorry I missed yesterday! I'm trying to keep up but after being away at the weekend we are off again on Thursday! There are only so many hours in the day! I particularly likes yesterday's card - lots of work but very very effective. I like today's too but not so much as yesterday's. To all who are unwell - my thoughts are with you. To those going through difficult times I send love to you too. Lots of love, Myra xxx
Hi Sue, Love this card.Your dies and ideas make the average card maker look like a pro.You inspire me to try different techniques and ideas.Thank you for another amazing card. Love Dorothy
Hi Sue, a beautiful card and I love the rich plum. Very clear video but did I really hear you say 'quick and easy' ? It would take me all morning just to cut and place the dies for the background!
We escaped the fog of the last few days and had lovely bright days but it seems to be our turn today. The fog/mist seems to be getting thicker as the day wears on and I haven't seen Norah's hills all day. Take care if you are out and about in it.
Hi Sue What a beautiful card, love the configeration die , it makes a wonderful background. You amaze us every day with how you can use your dies differently. Thank you for sharing. Love Diane G xxxxx
Beautiful card! Enjoyed watching your video on this card. Thank you. You have inspired me to make a LOT of the die cuts and layer them over a sticky sheet to create a background layer that is so very interesting and lovely! I really like your newest pierced square and pierced retangle dies. Awesome! Hope you will make a set of pierced retangles that are as John Next Doors calls "Oblong" and that they can be found in the USA.
Beautiful card again with the dies doing all the talking. Love the colour combo once more and the simple sentiment sets if off wonderfully. Thanks again for sharing.
Helloooo Sue and the Wilsonettes!Beautiful card made with the lovely rich plum. It's stunning! Loved watching the video and how you cut and put the figuration die down on the sticky sheet and then glittered. "Thank you Sue" for all the inspiration and ideas that you give to us all along with the Creative Expressions team too. Sending love and hugs to you Sue, your mom and family xx Sending love and hugs to all our Wilsonettes who are in need of some and keep strong xx Love Karen xx
Evening Sue .Watched the video this afternoon.Pleased to say I have all the dies !!!. I think I will try to do this card.I too Sue want to thank you for your Inspiration .Gloria(sidcup) xx
Hello sue an everyone I love video days but I can't watch it again it saying something about the flash player so I waiting for dad to get home from work because he always makes it work. But I think the card looks really pretty an I love all the little dots round the card I still think the ones you do yourself with the poke tool looks better but it's good to have all the sizes because I can't ever make them the right size. Thank you everyone who still sending kind words for my grandad he is really not well today nan took him to hospital in middle of the night an they are still there now so nan might not comment today. Thank you everyone Molly oxoxox
Wow Sue...what a magnificent background you created with that one small die. Love it. Oh Molly, I'm so sorry your grandad had to be taken to the hospital during the night. I'm saying a prayer that he's OK. Sending you lots of hugs.
Hi Sue Another stunning beautiful card & loving the colours, so rich & gorgeous. Love the way you keep bringing us so many different 'Configurations' of card styles & don't know how you keep coming up with these superb designs, but don't ever stop as they are so inspiring & make us think outside the box with trying new & different techniques & cutting into the die cuts to make new & exciting designs.
Oh Molly so sorry to hear grandad is in hospital, it's such a tough time for you. All we can do is send good wishes and hope that they can help him. Hugs to Melody.
Yeah, video day! I love your demonstrations, they are so informative and concise, I never fail to learn something useful that I can then apply to my own Cardmaking. The colour tones used today are simply stunning, one of my favourites, it is so warm, inviting and autumnal, just perfect for this time of year. On the surface this card appears rather simple and straight forward, and in some senses it is, but the time and patience needed to create the gorgeous background elevates it for me. I stupidly didn't buy the square pierced noble set when I bought its partner the rectangle, and now I'm kicking myself- I will have to rectify this mistake as soon as the expense of Christmas has passed. Speaking of the festive season, the panic is now starting surface- whilst the inner child in me gets excited, the adult worries about making it perfect for everyone, the presents, the food, the expectations, it all seems so clinical nowadays. I can't claim to be of the generation where a satsuma, apple and one present was the norm, but when I was a little girl in the eighties we didn't get luxury gifts throughout the year, they were reserved for birthdays and Christmas therefore the wonder and specialness was maintained. But consumerism has taken hold and children seem to get what they want on demand and don't respect or value their possessions. Gosh, I still have presents from back then in near perfect condition because I knew how hard it was for my mum, a single parent, to get me them. I wish there wasn't so much media pressure but I fall into the trap every year as many of us do. I like to make things for my loved ones if I can, I have done a set of four Art Deco cross stitch pictures that I am going to get framed for my brother and I get a lot of satisfaction from making my own cards too...though if time runs out I have been known to buy some shock!horror! With Brodies help/hiderance I am soldiering on with my cards and really enjoying playing with texture paste and copious amounts of glitter and lacquer- it transports me back to my youth when we used to make our own at school with crepe paper and that glue that smelt of fish:-) does anyone have any idea where Sue and the CE team get the beautiful gilded easels/card stands from- I would like to buy some for close family and friends to use instead of making them out of card which is time consuming and such a waste of card. Beth, hope you are feeling okay, missing youxxx Yvonne, are you being a good girl and getting plenty of rest before your pyrotechnic spectacular this weekend? Are you planning to spoil your guests with fudge and Eton mess...I'd be gate crashing if I lived in the vicinity but if it's a clear night we might be able to enjoy the display in Central Scotland:-) Molly and Melody, so sorry to hear about Francis having to go to hospital, I hope it's a minor blip as he has been trying so hard recently. All my love and best wishes to you all. Tracy, thinking of you too as you wait for confirmation of your results, hope you are managing to distract and recuperatexxx Huge hugs to all my blog buddies, particularly those struggling with ill health or personal difficultiesxxx
Theresa says Hi sue and lovely wilsonettes x Thankyou sue for sharing another beautiful card with us x I absolutely love the colours you have used and cannot wait to get some ' me ' time so I can catch up on the videos x I couldn't wait to get your pierced noble dies at ally pally and am so glad I did x they are the best purchase I have made and have used them so much x Molly sorry your grandads in hospital sending you all big hugs xxx Laine I remember the fishy glue too unfortunately ! and making paper chains x luckily my 3 children have been taught to wait for christmas and birthdays for big pressies but it hasn't always been easy ! So and so and whatshisname have got that brand new playbox game that came out 3 seconds ago why can't I ? Then again you should here me when sue launches another fantastic set of dies ! Beth hope you have been putting your feet up x Tracy are you still in your pj's ? Well the fog was replaced by rain today so hoping to give the tumble dryer a rest tomorrow ! No chance Take care everyone x Theresa w xxx

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card today!!! I have been checking by the blog but it's been awkward as I'm having an extension at home and let's just say it's been chaos!!! It'll be worth it in the end I'm sure! Just thought I'd explain in case you thought I'd abandoned you (or you probably didn't even notice with so many of us bloggers!!!)

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed yesterday!

Hi Sue, a beautiful card and I love the rich plum. Very clear video but did I really hear you say 'quick and easy' ? It would take me all morning just to cut and place the dies for the background!
ReplyDeleteWe escaped the fog of the last few days and had lovely bright days but it seems to be our turn today. The fog/mist seems to be getting thicker as the day wears on and I haven't seen Norah's hills all day. Take care if you are out and about in it.
Frances

Beautiful card! Enjoyed watching your video on this card. Thank you. You have inspired me to make a LOT of the die cuts and layer them over a sticky sheet to create a background layer that is so very interesting and lovely! I really like your newest pierced square and pierced retangle dies. Awesome! Hope you will make a set of pierced retangles that are as John Next Doors calls "Oblong" and that they can be found in the USA.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card again with the dies doing all the talking. Love the colour combo once more and the simple sentiment sets if off wonderfully. Thanks again for sharing.

Good evening Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes!
ReplyDeleteYeah, video day!
Beth, hope you are feeling okay, missing youxxx
Yvonne, are you being a good girl and getting plenty of rest before your pyrotechnic spectacular this weekend? Are you planning to spoil your guests with fudge and Eton mess...I'd be gate crashing if I lived in the vicinity but if it's a clear night we might be able to enjoy the display in Central Scotland:-)
Molly and Melody, so sorry to hear about Francis having to go to hospital, I hope it's a minor blip as he has been trying so hard recently. All my love and best wishes to you all.
Tracy, thinking of you too as you wait for confirmation of your results, hope you are managing to distract and recuperatexxx
Huge hugs to all my blog buddies, particularly those struggling with ill health or personal difficultiesxxx
