  11. Morning Sue,
I love this card, you make it look so easy to make the silver textured poinsettias, I had a go doing gold ones they came out lovely but I made quite a mess lol. I also used white card to start so little white patches showed up when they dried, but I used a paintbrush to cover them up.

Thanks for the inspiration you give me.

  19. Great card, Sue, and lots of tips in the video - thank you. The wave background is just like shifting sands, don't have texture paste so could try with scraper board and a suitable EF perhaps. Clever double layer frame which definitely will be put to use and love those poinsettias!
Melody - a difficult day tomorrow, hope all goes well - will be thinking of you.

  123. Good evening Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes.

A visually stunning ensemble! Loving the wavy mask and silver texture paste, gives the appearance of waves in wet sand after the tide has gone out- how appropriate to use it as the background to the three wise men striplet, it creates a desert theme that I find very appealing. I immediately sourced the wavy mask on Amazon and the silver texture paste so that I can create this little beauty for my Uncles Christmas card, I think it's deal as a male orientated card, the colours are fabulous. This is one of the few dies that I haven't bought cos my friend Gill has it, think I'll ask to borrow it next time we craft....oh, loved the demo too, plenty of useful tips, thanks!
Had plans to have an industrious day crafting but had to make do with cutting some poinsettias, card stands and foliage in preparation for my future Christmas cards. I plan to jazz up my flowers with some of the stamping, inking, glossing, sugaring and texture pasting in homage to the many techniques Sue has taught us recently. Decided to chill a little and watch some YouTube demos to refresh my fading memory and ensure I don't have any crafting catastrophes- it's easy to get carried away, the hours pass and you find that the ironing you were contemplating stays in the airing cupboard for another day:-) feeling quite lethargic and , dare I say it, down this evening, it's raining heavily for the first time this past week and it really feels like winter is just around the corner. I start to panic about Christmas approaching quicker than I would like...whilst I love it in most ways, I also dread the stress of making everything perfect and pleasing all my loved ones. It's ridiculous to place so much undue pressure on just one day, particularly when many have lost sight of what it really should mean. That being said, I love the glitz, glamour and tack as well and I fear that this may be reflected in many of my cards this year- anything that sits still for long enough, including the cats and my mum, find a liberal coating of glue and glitter about their personage! How Sue manages to consistently create such sophisticated cards with just enough embellishments is a skill that I have yet to fully master, my philosophy is you can never have too many pairs of shoes or too much glitter. The tutor at the craft classes I used to go too would only allow me to use glitter once a year...she had a severe allergy to the mess it created:-)...,at Christmas, so I was deprived for many years and now find myself making up for lost time!
Tracy, I was actually born in Kilmarnock so I know it well and still have many of my Dads relatives living in the area. I haven't been back for a few years but when I do we should definitely meet up. What a gem your hubby is, giving to charity AND his beautiful wife:-)he's a keeper methinks!
Melody, What a gruelling process for poor Francis to endure tomorrow, I hope that the outcome is as well as you can hope for, I'll be thinking of you bothxxxxHugs to Molly too, we still miss herxxxxx
Big bear hugs to anyone struggling at the moment, specially to Beth, Yvonne, Rebecca, Deb C, Wheely Bad, Theresa W and all the gallus gals on this wonderful blogxxx

  132. Evening Sue
Classy card. I think it is traditional and modern at the same time - is that possible? Beautiful and will look forward to seeing the video but not tonight. Hope you are well and enjoying life in the sun! Sending you a hug x
Late commenting as a friend popped up for a coffee that I hadn't seen for ages. She arrived at about 2 this afternoon (for a quick cuppa) and I finally got rid of her and pushed her out the door at about 9.45pm - lol! We had so much to catch up on and it was lovely to see her but I am exhausted.
Not a long comment tonight - my friend has worn me out.
Melody - will be thinking of you tomorrow x
Tracy - lovely hubby - hang on to him x
Lots of love to Lorraine, Maria, Wheely Bad, Rebecca, fluffy cat, Theresa and every one!
    Crafty hugs

  140. Hi Sue. Another beautiful christmas card. The colours are stunning and with the texture paste giving the background and flowers the sparkle you dont need anything else for embellishments. I have made some lovely cards with this three wisemen die. These mini striplet dies are wonderful for making smaller and larger cards. Thanks for another great video. I just wish i could keep a clean and tidy work area like you do but i always seem to end up a little bit of a mess lol.
    Take care everyone.
    Best Wishes.
