You Are So Kind

Hi crafters!  Today's card is a black and white one using the Nobles and configurations dies.  I started by cutting a piece of coconut white card and adding two Lattice Arched Adornments to each side of the card.  I slightly overlapped them in the middle, keeping the flat edge of the configuration to the edge of the card.  Next I cut the Ornate Pierced Design Noble in white using the outer and inner cutting edges to create a frame.  I backed it with black card and added mounting foam to the back to raise it for dimension. Next I cut two more of the Lattice Arched Adornments and attached them to the inside of the frame so the tips overlapped in the very centre of the frame.  I glued the frame in the centre of the card and it looked as if it was part of the configuration dies from the edge as it continued into the frame.  I stamped my sentiment in black on white card and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet, peeled the backing paper off and coated it with Diamond Snow.  I cut the inside die from the Toronto die in white and backed it with black and cut them both into a frame.  I attached it over the sentiment and mounted it in the centre of the larger frame.  I added small 3mm white pearls to all the junctions in the Lattice Arched adornment, then added on my last set of mats and layers to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  8 1/2" in size.
John Lockwood is doing the One Day Special on Hochanda tonight at 8pm with shows all day on Tuesday as well!   All for now, Sue x

  13. Heather - love the card colour sample idea. I'd also love to see a delicate trailing ivy folder to enhance and link the Greek collection of dies and the ivy border corner and tag die set, I can imagine it with guilding flakes, wax, and colour clouded.

This card is such a stunning offering. Lacy and lovely. White with a splash of black - perfect. These particular dies are not part of my collection (yet), but are definitely on my want/wish list.
I am still playing catch up and have not yet seen all the beautiful cards which I missed. The few I have seen are as expected gorgeous. I have alot to add to my 'copy Sue' list. I do like a list x
Very quiet day today. Jake at work, George at college so just me and peace and quiet. Bored stupid and now I am feeling a little more human the temptation to get on is strong but I am trying really hard to resist.
Caught a snippet of the Graph'it marker shows on Hochanda yesterday so have a plan. I always forget about how therapeutic I find colouring. I don't tend to use coloured stamped images on my cards as much as I did before. I used to stamp and colour whilst watching tv all the time but it is a pastime which has been neglected of late. This could be the solution to the overwhelming boredom which I find is the biggest challenge. Surely that can't be too physically challenging - so I will let you know how I get on x
Maria - starting to feel better - taking it slowly. Sending you a hug x
Heather - Loving the idea of sample foundation card. One can only see the true colour when it is in your hands and this would be a huge solution to what could be an expensive mistake. I expect if this idea does come to fruition it will be incredibly popular - perhaps you should be on commission x
Sandra - how are you hun. I haven't been here for a while but before I went awol I am sure that you weren't commenting. I could be completely wrong. Hugs to you x
Theresa - nice to be missed - thanks x
Lorraine - did you really miss me? I do try to stay positive and must admit that most of the time I do manage to view life from a half full perspective. However once in a while the half empty scenario creeps up on me when I least expect it - not very often I'm glad to say.
I feel for those Strictly boys. Does your visit to see them come with a disclaimer? Loving this series. Very close call as to who the winner could be - so many good movers this year. Got to admit got a bit of a soft spot for Anton - think it's pity due to the partners he has had to deal with before. Actually think he may be in line for a spot in the final - that would be a first x
Wheely Bad - I think sat- sitting is going to continue for a while. Big warm hug for you x
Sending love and hugs to Melody, Molly and Tracy x

  137. Good evening Sue and her crafty crew!

Well, I'm feeling rather pleased with myself today since I have all of the elements to recreate this delightful card. I have been collecting the Noble dies of late and I now have them all apart from the new pierced squares:-) I have now shifted my attention to the configurations collection and bought this particular beauty last week. I love today's card, the monochrome colour theme suits me to a tee, it's so sophisticated, like a LBD, and would suit many occasions and either sex. I used that very Noble die combination for my Mums birthday card, it works beautifully, no ribbon, stick pins or flowers needed , just a touch of bling is more than sufficient.
I've had a splendidly productive day today...and I didn't even spend hours doing household chores!...I made a start on some Christmas shopping because I am getting increasingly alarmed at how quickly it creeps up on us. Rather than getting my nephew and niece dolls or Thomas the Tank engine paraphernalia I decided to go to The Works and get them paint, pencils, pens, colouring books and crafty items in the hope that it may spark their creative juices- I used to love doing things like that when I was growing up and would have loved to have made a career of it in fashion design...I did a 'proper degree' instead and never went back to art in a more serious vein. I may be barking up the wrong tree with them and that's okay, but you never know what untapped potential is waiting to be discovered. I was one of those children who would be inspired by Tony Hart- ladies of a certain age may remember his children's programme of the 70's and 80's-,and Blue Peter who were known for making use of sticky backed plastic, metal coat hangers and egg cartons.
With all of this in mind Yvonne, I think that it is a splendid idea to begin colouring again. I have many artists pencils, paints and the full set of spectrum noir pens and pencils and I have bought some of those adult colouring books but I prefer the idea of stamping images and incorporating them in cards and scrapbook pages instead. Crafters Companion do an accredited colouring course if you get really serious and their tutorials are great, you can download some of their images to practise.
I'm glad to hear that you are getting your strength back, don't go doing any triathlons anytime soon honey:-)
Ahhh, Strictly, I share your obsession, though not to stalkerish levels as yet but the season is still young! Lots of talent on show, I favour Jay and Aliona, their jive was so good I watched it five times..sad or what! I almost wet myself with excitement when Gleb ripped his shirt off on Saturday....I feel a potential restraining order will be issued forthwith!
Tracy, I am originally from Dundonald in Ayrshire but I have lived in Stirling for 24 yrs now- where do you stay? It gives me a warm glow to think that my baby boy and I can bring a little sunshine into others lives, he makes me smile every day with his antics and I just hope that I'm not boring people rigid with my stories...
Hugs to Billy, Lauren , Hannah, Milly and all our furry four paws from me , Brodie and Darceyxxxxx
Special hugs to my buddies and everyone in need of a cuddle for one reason or another- hope you are okay Beth, it's been a while since we heard from you, same goes for Rebecca and Deb Cxxxx
Off to catch up with the soaps and Johns Hochanda show....

    Love and crafty hugs

  152. I only recently found your blog so I'm catching up on your tutorials and videos. I love your creativity! You are an inspiration and the creativity in this card is no exception. I cannot thank you enough for all you share. You not only teach how to create but you do so in an easy to understand way. My mind is filled with ideas and I'm excited to begin crafting as soon as I've recovered from a hard fall while hospitalized. I have complications from breaking my pelvis in three places plus I also broke my shoulder. It helps having goals to look forward to and your videos definitely help me set them for the future. Thank you Sue, you are inspiring me.
