Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  Custard card, it is just such a lovely shade of butter yellow that I just have to reach for it from time to time!  Today's card uses the Quilted Block Striplet in a slightly different way.  I cut three of them in coconut white card and backed them with custard card.  I used a paper cutter to cut the blocks apart and I selected the top and bottom blocks which are the same from each of the three striplets.  I mounted these blocks individually with mounting foam into two rows of three blocks, spacing them evenly apart.  I raised them over another piece of coconut white card.  Next I cut the Complete Camellia and created two slightly different sized flowers out of coconut white card.  I used Mustard seed distress ink on the edges to just tinge the flowers with a slight yellow to them.  I assembled the flowers then added Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue to all the petals and sugared them with Iced Snow.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flags die set, cutting a slightly larger one out of custard card to use as a mat.  I added it across the centre of the card, then embellished the end with my flowers.  They were seated on some white tulle and Mosaic Leaves and Splendid Swirls were added as embellishment around them.  I completed the card with a white pierced mat layer, a thin custard card mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  8 1/2" in size.  If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card, just leave me a comment and check back on Saturday when I will post the winner's name.  All for now, Sue x

The colour's are lovely and i have just recieved the new striplet die's from your last collection but don't have any of the custard card YET will have to see if JS has any in stock as she carries a great selection of the foundation card stock. The flower arragement look's gorgeous with the ink on the petal's and then just to finish them a hint of bling. Another one to try at the weekend.

Good morning Sue and Wilsonettes...sincere apologies for my recent absence, had a bit of a relapse with my health...well my heart & fatigue actually...and it has taken all my strength just to get through the day. Even when I logged on to look at Sue's gorgeous gem of cards I couldn't concentrate so had to log off again.

Whomever is the recipient of todays beautiful gem Sue will assuredly be the luckiest Wilsonette and boy will their heart be doing flips and their feet dancing. I will go and comment on your other 2 cards Sue but had to say that I love your buckle card and lovely to see it done in a completely different way...another of my favourites of your style card.

Anyways I must away but before I go (temporarily) I would like to send hugs and smiles to you and yours Sue and to all Wilsonettes...haven't read the previous posts yet so hope everyone is okay...Take care Love Beth B x x x

    Morning Sue
What a beautiful and gentle feminine gift you have given us today. Such Summer colourss and who wouldn't love to receive this delight on their special day.
I love the different take on a Striplet Card and have saved this lovely idea/thought into my must do box.

Well it was my K&N afternoon yesterday and as I said my turn for the demo. I Have to say I think I confused one or two of my crafting friends with what I thought was a reasonable format. Nearly all completed the card in the end.

Overcast and quiet cold here this morning so it's fingers cross it may change throughout the day.
To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  130. Good morning Sue,

Yet another beautifully sunny day in Stirling, I could seriously get used to this-Scotland is so stunning when the sun shines, though it seriously interferes with my crafting plans:-)
Need I say that I love this little gem today-whoever the lucky receipiant may be I am sure that it will be the best gift ever. I know that I have been fortunate enough to win the weekly comment prize, but to receive one of your cards is THE ultimate goal for all Wilsonettes so I live in hope.
The custard card is a fave of mine and I am with you Sue when I say that the pierced tags and camellia combo is my favourite combination of the moment. It is clear that I HAVE to add to my strip let collection because the effect on your masterpiece is simply breathtaking.
I'm off to take my little Bengal pussy for a walk-he loves the sunshine. I use a lead because he is a bit mental and has no road sense, we live sandwiched between two busy roads and I have already lost two of my babies this way. He is very well trained and only occasionally makes a bid for freedom when I can't move as quickly as he'd like!:-)

    Love and crafty hugs,

Lovely, lovely buttery yellow and white card today. I like how you separated the striplet die into squares. I also want to thank you Sue for the great instructions you write-up for us Wilsonetts so we can possibly recreate the look. Not all designers are so generous. Many times I will have studied your photos, but missed a techique or a layer that you did. With your very clear and precice written instuctions, I get so much more out of your designs. Wishing all a great week.

  186. Hi Sue

Super pretty. Yellow was my nannas favourite colour (nanna with the neopolitan ice cream coloured bathroom), it's not one I use a lot but must try to as it shows that striplet off a treat. Really stunning

Sue please don't put me in the draw, I found out today that I won a die on Julia's blog so I think I've had my luck for this week and it gives everyone else a little extra chance. I have a few of the dies in today's card so I might try make my own when I can get up the table (not for a few days as yet!)

Theresa W, Beth B and other Wilsonettes not feeling at their best, I'm thinking of you, sending hugs and get well wishes.

Maria, thank you xxx sending hugs your way x

Been awake on and off today, still sore, fatigue becoming pretty boring. Better than I was though. Got to go to Dentist tomorrow though and know it'll hurt my back & neck and wear me out all over again but it's one I really can't put off. PA will be with me though so won't have to do much when I get back here. Hoping to visit blog but don't worry if I don't manage, I will be back as soon as I'm able to.

Sending many hugs and happy thoughts to every one of you, plenty extra if they're needed!
