Morning all! An all white card today with just the lightest hint of green shading to it around the corners. I started by cutting the Greek Island corners in each of the four corners of my coconut white card. As I cut each one of the corners, I left the die in place and very lightly shaded around it with Bundled Sage distress ink. This inked the exposed areas in the die cut as well as the cut out areas in the card. Next I used the Kefalonia die to deboss the pattern into the centre of my card without cutting any part of it out (by just using the embossing sandwich). I applied mounting foam to the back of this piece to give it some height and mounted it over another piece of white card. I recessed each corner back into their apertures and glued them into place. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the smaller die in the Kefalonia die and used another die in the set to emboss the detail around the edge of my sentiment. I mounted it with foam and placed it in the centre of my card. I cut two of the Charming Hearts corners and nipped away the ends of each of them to make them symmetrical. I glued them to the sides of my sentiment as embellishments. I completed the card with my paper pierced mat, a thin black mat and a wider white mat. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.

ReplyDeleteGM Sue. Sometimes less is more and I like this especially the subtle shading. Happy weekend all.
ReplyDeleteHello Sue
ReplyDeleteYet another beautiful card. So delicate. I like the idea of embossing the die into the background rather than cutting it out and raising it up.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. Thanks for sending the sun for the past few day's, and the delicacy of today's card whisper's spring into summer, the gentle shade of green is just right to show how lovely the Greek collection is. A very beautiful subtle card for us today, and the sentiment goes back to you, and a sprinkling of special genuine friends I have here.
ReplyDeleteWell done Donna on being chosen for the beautiful Wednesday card, enjoy : )
Whatever your plans for the day Sue hope its a lovely one for you.
Sending special hugs.

Good morning Sue and all . Beautiful card again Sue, so delicate. Congrats Donna enjoy your prize. JJxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue & Wilsonettes...hope this finds you all well x x x
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Donna on being chosen to win Wednesdays gorgeous card, someone(sorry cannot remember who) put it in a lovely way as to being the "guardian of Sues beautiful card"...and I quite agree...what an honour for you...have your heart stopped doing the flippety flip yet...lol.
From one friend to another Sue...I love your simplistic designs as much as I love those decorated with bows and stickpins etc...they make such a bold statement without the need for all the Jazz (lovely Jazz of course)...
I will have to give the deboss effect a try out and use it more often as it is quite effective and stunning...somehow the brain didn't want to leave the comfort zone of Embossing...which to me has been an automatic reflex...so it is with the greatest thanks to you Sue that I now know I can come out of that comfort zone and try something different with good results.
I like only earthy/pastel colours of green etc and I'm loving this Bundled Sage ink, as with a recent card posted it has a lovely soft tone to it and has set the card off nicely, so Thank You for sharing yet another winner with us Sue because as always it is very much appreciated.
Have a lovely day Sue with your family & friends...hugs and smiles to you & your Wilsonettes & for those of you who are feeling unwell or in need then I send them to you tenfold x x x
Thank you so much ladies for your kindness shown when I asked how to make a friend/s, your responses were very much appreciated...I do appreciate that Wilsonettes here are like friends/family to each other...but I'm quite isolated here for reasons I won't bore you with...lol...and I guess I thought that if the feeling was mutual I could find a penpal or something, who shares the same crafty interest etc...still thank you again ladies.
Well the sun is shining, husband home safe from his shift and I was up far too early
Yawn, yawn, yawn...lol...so I will end by wishing you all a lovely day...Love Beth B x x x

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Donna on being the Wednesday Winner. I hope you have a safe place for it:-)
No gardening for days now, I can't even get down to the greenhouse to plant up the hanging baskets let alone put them out. Rain and gale force winds (that almost blew my husband over when he went out earlier) have been the order of the day and it doesn't seem to be letting up at all. Still, I have kept myself occupied making my version of one of Sue's cards so the day has not been wasted.
