You're Delightful

Hi crafters!  Thank you so much for all of your birthday wishes yesterday!  I did have a very relaxing and enjoyable day!  Today's card uses the St. Barts die set from the Caribbean Collection.  I started by embossing a piece of milk card to create the background using the Rambling Blossoms embossing folder.  For the focal element, I cut the decorative die and the inner die from the St. Barts out of a smaller piece of milk card,  I backed it with a piece of Duck Egg Blue card.  I used the edge die from the Labyrinth Diagonal to put a small decorative edge all the way around it.   To add a bit of extra detail to the centre, I cut another St. Barts out of milk card but used the centre die to cut out the centre of this one.  I added it over the original with mounting foam to add some definition and depth.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the tag from the Refined Rectangle die set and mounted it in the centre of the card.  I used both the open and complete petal Camellias to make a single flower and seated it on a thin satin ribbon bow with a few leaves around it.  The card was finished with my usual pierced mat, a thin duck egg blue mat and a final wider milk mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  12. Hi Sue. So happy to read you had a relaxing birthday. Hope your retail therapy got you loads of goodies and you had a wonderful meal in your favourite restaurant. I bet Tampa has changed beyond all recognition since we went 20 odd year's ago ! Anyway Sue you had a wonderful day and that's all that matters.
Such a beautiful delicate card today. I just love the selection of dies used, unfortunatly they are not part of my collection just yet as im trying so hard to catch up with the older dies (although couldn't resist the Canadian background after your card last week) although it arrived in the post I can play yet as its my anniversary gift and that isn't until a couple of weeks (its making me mad that its tucked away, hidden from me) my fingers are itching to use it ! Crohns has been getting the better of me all week so not felt upto card making, I had made a birthday card and that was it.
I suppose its back to your craft room today Sue, so I will send you love n hugs this Friday and wish you a productive happy day.

    Morning Sue
Today's gift is just beautiful and so so feminine with delicate colours and just the hint of a bow showing off that glorious flower petal die.
I defy anyone not to like today's gift or say that they would change it in any way.
It would certainly have pride of place on my mantlepiece.

Well we had summer yesterday but this morning is overcast but we haven't had the rain the weatherman promised for overnight. At least I got all the begging dry. As it's Friday it's the usual housework for me and my hairdresser arriving at lunchtime for my hair cut before I go to my Summer Retreat.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Sue, this card is so delicate and feminine. The soft blue and the dies are perfect in every way. So pretty, anyone would love to receive this card.

It is another gorgeous sunny start to the day here in my little corner of Somerset, methinks a spot of gardening could be in order after I have finished my one last bit of painting, a good clean-up and stowing away of all decorating equipment. A quick visit to town to order the flooring and my shower room is finally finished. I shall be crafting all weekend, I have a stall at my Church Fete in mid-July and am really getting behind in creating enough goodies to fill my stall.

    Happy crafting to you all

  110. Good Morning Sue & friends,
Well I am just returning back to the land of the living after having huge dental pain, it would appear to have been a dental abscess, although it was in my cheek not in my mouth, so bizarre, I had to go to an emergency dentist as since becoming disabled and not leaving the house for the first couple of years I lost my place at our local dental practice, mind you it was an upstairs clinic that I can no longer access and they would only take the children on as NHS patients if was a private patient, which frustrates me as it's like blackmail really ! Anyway. after no dental treatment for 6 years I was kind of apprehensive, but the emergency dentist said I have good teeth, no decay, frustratingly she couldn't find the problem with my hugely painful tooth, they took X-ray but apparently it was too pixelated for them t
So she gave me some high dose antibiotics, that are making me feel yuck! I now have to pay and go get another X-ray, but will leave it until I have finished these tablets, so I am back in the land of living!
Sometimes I think that life can bring these things on, like tumbling dominoes, I had a week or so of family stress, then a bit of an upset on my blog, I think I let things affect me too easily, so life got on top of me and that's why I became unwell I believe, but onwards and upwards as they say!
Sue your card today is stunning, it's my favourite colour combination of yours, blue and cream, and the combination of dies that you have used work perfectly together as always, thank you so very much Sue for your amazing inspiration, it's so valuable, you are just so generous! Thanks again!
I am now going to go back over the days I have missed, I am like an addict, I need my Sue fix!
    Love and huge hugs,

So glad to hear that you enjoyed your special day-I hope the weather is better where you are because Scotland is persistently wet of late and summer seems to be far far away at the moment. Never mind, plenty of guilt free crafting as a result!
What a typically beautiful card today, I love the delicate intricacy and soft feminine tones from the baby blue and off white card choice.
Luckily, I have all of the elements used, a recent birthday present to myself, and in will really enjoy recreating it sometime soon.

  157. Hi Sue,
another lovely card. hat shade of blue is so pretty.
We had a Thrush nesting in our garden but she was taken by a nasty cat and her nest had three eggs in so they were lost too, they were a similar blue shade but I would have loved three new Thrushes.

Dull day here in the Yorkshire Dales but I still love living here.
Ohh the robot gave me Birthday Cakes to pick today.

  173. Hi Sue,
What a beautiful card. I love everything about it. So glad you had a relaxing and enjoyable birthday. It did make me wonder though what you have on your wish list seeing as you have the complete collection of dies from Sue Wilson Lol!!!

Anne Crawford, despite what Myra (my friend) says I am not such a wizard but, I think what you need to do is go into into your Google plus account and then go to,settings and there may be a box where you can click "keep me logged in". I don't know as I don't have a Google plus account. It sounds though like you are logged out and before you use the account to comment it wants to verify through your password that you are who you say you are which is actually a good thing as it is protecting your privacy. You can however comment without using your Google plus account as I do. Where it says Choose an identity (below the comment box) click on Name/URL and then simply add your name in that box, you don't have to add a URL below it. Hope that helps.

    Love and hugs

  178. Hi Sue & all Wilsonettes...
looks like I'm not the only one having problems leaving a comment today...every time I got this far my online just froze & shut me down...still that was more to do with my computer than anything else so because I have had a really hectic day I decided to take the opportunity to shut the computer off on the actual mains for the day & rebooted. Seems okay now though...still as much as I am shattered I'm glad I'm here now to write Sue just how much I appreciate you posting us such a beautiful card today...to say that the colours, flowers and the card itself is an absolute gem is an understatement.

Really very happy for you Sue that you had such a lovely birthday...just what you deserve for everything you do for us.

Well folks I must away to get some kip as hubby home from work at 3am so no doubt I will get woken up by my 2 Border Collies when he comes through the door & not be able to go back to sleep...lol...Love, hugs and smiles to you Sue & Wilsonettes...Beth B x x x

  182. Beautiful card. The blue is so pretty. Love the St. Bart's die. I used it a few days ago to make a 70th birthday card (with different colours and minus the flower) for a male relative who shares your birthday. Also used your Happy Birthday die for the first time this week. Really pleased with it.
    Take care everyone.
