Best Wishes

Good Sunday morning all!  This one almost comes under the heading of clean and simple ( and almost flat too!).  I started with a piece of soft grey card and used the Lattice mask on it.  I taped it into place and used Silver Moon Sparkle Texture paste through it for a tone on tone look.  I allowed it to dry several hours before continuing.  Next I cut the Caribbean border die out of coconut white card and backed it with the soft grey card.  I glued it into place so that it was between my embossed background and a plain area of grey card on top.  I cut three of the Best Wishes die in coconut white card and used spray glue to adhere them all together to raise it slightly.  I glued it into place above my border and to the right side of the card.  I tied a double bow out of white satin ribbon, added a silver twine bow and topped it with a white crystal sparkler (can't have any naked knots, you know! LOL)  I added my paper pierced white border mat using my piercing ruler, then a thin grey mat layer and finally a wider white mat to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size.

  10. Hi Sue,

This card is so up my street. This is definately my colour choice and I am working on something in the same colours at the moment.
I will look for the mask and the paste to try - although I don't have a lot of success with messy stuff but will give it another try.
I use the Best Wishes die a lot and I love it.
Have a good time everyone and be careful out there.

  16. Hi Sue and Wilsonettes...I have a small stash of grey card which I have never used because I couldn't imagine how I would make a card with it...so thank you for sharing this gorgeous card with us today Sue...the texture paste on this grey colour makes such a lovely difference adding interest...I too will be giving this texture paste a go...sounds like a messy bit of fun and that's what crafting is all about...having fun and letting your ideas flow into your design.

Congratulations to the many, many comment winners today...Sue has been wonderfully generous and I know that you will really love and treasure your prize gift x x x

Maria Alder...I grew up in Devon then in Millbrook, Cornwall...but I moved further up to be with my first husband who later died of stomach cancer and after many years I met my now husband Steve, of almost 7 years...but because of his job and his elderly frail dad wouldn't move down to me so yet again I gave everything up to be with him (Steve I mean not his dad...lol...)but because I'm a country girl at heart then Steve promised that if his dad is not with us in our retirement years then we are moving back down to Cornwall(can't wait to retire not the rush to get older...lol)but to answer your question Maria I live in Northampton...sigh... x x x

    Cheryl...Lynda etc...Thank you so much x x x I will check back on Google+ again later(husband on shift work this weekend)but I didn't see anything from yourself Lynda...sorry...

Mary Lynn sincerely hope that you shared a lovely day with your husband...40th. Anniversary...congratulations and a beautiful achievement in these too modern times x x x

Well folks I will let you get back to your hopefully...non swinging...hanging baskets...if not there is always the top notch card crafting to tuck into...I spoke too soon as we had gale winds aswel yesterday.

Take care to one and all, hugs and smiles to you all and especially to Sue and family...Love Beth B x x x

  21. Sunday smiles to you Sue. Clean and simple, and pure beauty and elegance is how I describe this card today.
Each time you show us a sample using your new texture paste and mask's for a background it makes me wonder if I could do both these product's justice. I just love the way you make it look so different, both yourself and Tina E (Creative Expressions DT member) use it so beautifully it really makes me want to buy and try, Tina is also addicted to this new sparkle paste and I think you maybe to blame Sue lol, she cant put it down and loves it too. So, if my lovely little craft shop has this in stock next week Im going to buy and try, as I find my card backgrounds are in need of some umph, so umph I will try ! Ohhhh dear, what am I getting myself into lol I feel I may need lots's of baby wipes at hand and a lot of patience in the stubby little finger's department !
So for now, I will send many congrats to the long list of comment winner's and wish you lots of extra fun with your gift.
Another day that makes you feel so much better even if you feel pant's lol its amazing how a little bit of sun takes the blue's away, although Im not one for moaning or going on about my health, Im so glad to say goodby to last week and start a new !
So Sunday hugs to you Sue hope you have a lovely day whatever your plans.

Who would have thought that a grey card would look so gorgeous. I have some grey card and always put it with pink but I love it with white and the added paste it's beautiful. ( something to go on my 'To do' list. I love your Best Wishes die, I would love a Happy Birthday in the same font ( hint hint lol), although I have to say I love the one I have of yours but you can't have too many sentiments I say lol. I must also try layering a few together it looks great done that way. I'll be a 1000 years old before I complete my 'To do' and 'I need' lists lol.

  56. Good morning to everyone from a gloriously sunny Somerset.

It makes me want to forego the crafting and get some gentle gardening done that I missed yesterday with the biting cold winds, although I do have to be careful of not getting sunburnt. A side effect of the breast cancer last year renders me unable to sunbathe for the next 3-5 years so it's high necked tops with long sleeves for me. And a straw/sun hat.

As always Sue, just when I think I can't get too many techniques under my belt, along you come with another. Well, there's not much I can say about this card that somebody already hasn't done so.
It is simply divine, no clutter just plain & simple with a touch of sparkle. I am seeing this technique as a base for my Christmas cards. Thank you Sue for your marvellous inspiration.

Beth, looking forward to hearing from you on Google+, just add me in a circle and we are off and running.
To all those in pain and discomfort, I hope you improve today.
    Love & hugs

    Morning Sue
I love the dies you have used on today's gift and I love the format but I'm still not sure about the Paste. I reminds me of 'flocked wallpaper' of years ago and one of those Victorian decorations I didn't like the feel of. I know it may sound silly but perhaps it will grow on me. As you can guess I haven't bought any of the paste yet so perhaps I might have to invest in a sample and give it a try. Having said all that I also love your colour palette today.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners this week.

We still have sunshine and it's dry this morning but that naughty wind will not go away. To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Love today's card, texture paste is a brilliant way to create a gorgeous background, it does remind me of the wallpaper Janet mentioned but I love it. Think this one is going into my "ideas for Christmas cards" folder. Thank you, I need all the ideas I can get!!

Tracy, hope your head is not too sore, at least they didn't put stitches in, wonder if the glue they used was cosmic shimmer dries clear Lol.
