Just For You

Hello my crafty friends!  I have been playing with the St. Barts die set again!  Working from the background up, I used the Tiles mask to simply emboss the design into my milk card.  I matted it with a thin black mat and added four cream pearl corners to it.  Next I cut the St. Barts out of milk card and added a black backing piece to it.  I did two of these for my focal element.  On both of them, I cut them down the middle and lined the two sides up together and took off a bit more with my paper cutter to create two pieces that when taped back together were more or less square in shape.  I offset the two pieces and glued them together to create the focal element.  I stamped my sentiment in black on milk card.  To frame it, I used the Refined Rectangle die set to cut a rectangle frame.  I cut this one in half and took away a bit more with my paper cutter to create a square when taped back together.  I glued my sentiment in place behind it and trimmed away the excess card.  I cut several of the very small flowers from the Complete petal Camellia die set and added them around my sentiment as embellishments.  I added some black flatback pearls to their centres.  Finally the card was finished off with a pierced milk mat layer, a thin black mat and a larger milk piece of card.  The finished dimensions are  7 3/4" x  7 3/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  18. Hi Sue, what a lovely start to our day. I dont know how you do it, you must make so many cards in one day but where do you get your inspiration from apart from your dies ? I try to get 2 a day under my belt but it can take me hour's just to be 100% happy that Ive placed my floral focal point where it looks good ! That's without any other oopsie moments that I have ! So to do all you do in a day amazes me, samples for show's, magazine interview's designing new dies etc yet you still keep these inspirational beauties coming, could I possible ask for you to share just 2 of your creative brain cells please lol.
Another bright sunny day here in Lancashire, how much longer can it last I ask ?!
Sending love and hugs to you Sue.

  23. Hi Sue, simply stunning love monochromatic cards, the pearl corners are gorgeous. Lol lynne m x x x

Took poochies to the vets on Wednesday as Cully's tail was swollen, talk about a pantomime to get them both through the door. Hubby was pulling as I was pushing. Eventually poochies were in and we sat down to wait our turn. The little b's completely forgot that they are NOT lap dogs and proceeded to try to climb up us in the mistaken belief they could get away. Our name was called and the second half of the pantomime began. Both of their bums went down on the floor with super glue attached and it took FOREVER to get them into the consulting room
. Cully does have a nasty infection on her tail and is now on very strong antibiotics to try to clear it up. We have been told that there is a possibility she could lose her tail so we are keeping everything we have crossed. The pills she has to take I'm sure are for horses due to the size of them and we are having to be inventive to get them into her. As she has hollow legs where food is concerned we are using that to disguise the pills. At the moment she is a poorly little b and Tilly can't understand why she won't play. Never thought I'd say this but I miss their antics. Will keep you all updated on Cully's progress.

Lol and hugs Lynne m & not so dastardly devious demon destructive doggie divas x x x

    Morning Sue
A very elegant gift you have given us today Sue.
I love the format you have used and of course monochrome is always classy.
I still have to admit I cringe at the thought of cutting your beautiful dies and find it very difficult to do. An exercise of 'deep breathing' is called for every time I do it which is not very often. I do admit though that you get fantastic results so I must 'try harder' as one of my teachers used to say.

Well it's Friday again -where does the time really go!- and I've got to get some housework done around a visit to Physio - just what I needed so will just have to get a wriggle on.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  48. Hi Sue and Wilsonettes...

The more I see the St Bart's die the more I am loving it...but as with all your cutting dies Sue they are not just beautiful they are very versatile and it is super how you show us that we can veer off from our comfort zone of die cutting and interact a die from one set with die/s from an alternate set...thank you for sharing yet another gorgeous gem with us Sue...

Ps I think the background mask embossing is gorgeous too as it really sets the card off to a tee...I have a few masks but would never have thought of doing this technique with them...so will have to practice x x x

Hi Ladies...those of you who have added me to your circle...thank you, thank you so much you are really lovely people to invite me x x x...I can only apologise that I haven't yet responded but as you know I have had a few relapses in my health of late which has meant that the garden has gone slightly to pot...although my energy is still fatigued I need to catch up on pruning, tying back and replacing a few plants whilst the weather dictates (especially the remembrance poppies my husband pulled from our memorial garden & ceremoniously dumped into the bin & proudly announcing that he had pulled up some weeds for me...I know he meant well bless him but I was upset because the worst thing is that these gorgeous poppies (in remembrance garden would have flowered on my late Border Collie Sasha's and my late son Shaun Ryan's birthdays...cannot find these poppies anywhere now)...so would it be okay if I come back to you via the circle early next week...please do not think I was being rude but my sincere apologies again x x x

Lynne M...sincerely hope that your little Cully recovers soon with added good news later on...please give the Divas a hug from me x x x

Wishing you Sue, your family and all Wilsonettes a lovely day with Hugs and Smiles & extra for those who need x x x Take care Love Beth B x x x

What a beautiful card we have for today. I've been especaially loving you blog this week Sue for all the Caribbean inspiration as I got this collection of dies from your POTD shows back in April. So many times this week I've sat here and thought "I can have a go at that one", love it when that happens! This monochrome card is stunning and you never cease to amaze me with your ideas for cutting into your dies and making them do something different than what they do so beautifully at first glance.

  137. Hi Sue, a lovely card and I think if you substitute black gems for the (gorgeous) pearl corners it would be suitable for those pesky male cards.

Lynne - so sorry for poor Cully, I hope she is feeling better soon and that she gets to keep her tail. One of my friend's dogs is poorly at the moment and is also on antibiotics. She wraps the pill up in a piece of sliced chicken & 'poof' it is gone :-) I wish it would work as well for my cat's daily tablet which often gets spat out as soon as our backs are turned!

Wishing everyone a relaxing and hopefully sunny week-end.
