Love You

Hello my crafty friends! Today's card is a really simple one, probably could have dressed it up more with flowers, but I liked the simplicity of it so decided against it.  I started by cutting an aperture in the top of my vintage gold card using the Kefalonia die.  Next I embossed the background with the new Braided Vines embossing folder to add texture to it.  I added a piece of dusty rose frilly edged ribbon to the bottom of it and taped the ends to the back.  I tied a double bow and attached it to the centre with glue dots.  To the centre of the bow, I added a rose Dazzler set into a Dazzler setting.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flags, angled the ends with my scissors and tucked it under the Dazzler setting.  For the focal element, I stamped the matching stamp called Kalika Trio and heat embossed it in gold.  I did this twice and cut the entire stamp out with the matching Kefalonia die, then on the second one, just cut out the centre and layered it up.  I used Worn Lipstick distress ink around the edge while still in the die and used it on the centre roses as well. The leaves were done in Forest green.  I added a bit of shadow behind the flowers with Tumbled Glass and used a wet brush to soften the edges.  There is just something so pretty about gold embossed flowers that have been coloured!  The card was then finished with a white pierced mat, a thin gold mat and a wider white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 1/4" in size.

Now for this weeks winner of the Wednesday Card Giveaway is:

Patricia Youdell!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your card.  All for now, Sue x

    morning Sue
Who would not want to receive a gift like this. It's everything I and many more would love to receive. Your colours and the simplicity just makes it so so elegant and regal.
There is only one word for me today 'STUNNING!!!!!!'

Congratulations Patricia - you're one very lucky lady.

It's another damp grey morning here but I've hopes that the sun may visit. I finished the outsides of the cards I had to make and so now starts the other difficult bit what sentiment for the middle as all three are for males. I really do struggle with this.

Have a good day everyone and to those in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  14. Hi Sue,
Lovely card and yes the embossing really does pop on the gold. I think the card has a Victoriana look to it as well.
Ordered my ring yesterday so just have to wait 4 - 5 weeks now. Pleased I didn't order it on Tuesday when I saw it before as price of gold has dropped so saved money by getting it yesterday! Did have nightmare trying to get into the city though with all the roadworks and then a burst water main so some roads were closed leading my road to be gridlocked!!
Congratulations to Patricia, I'm sure you'll enjoy your card.
Love and hugs to all, Alison xx
