Have A Great Day

He guys!  We have a Scandinavian feast for today's card!  I started from the centre of this one and worked outward.  Using a piece of milk coloured card, I cut the decorative insert from the Stockholm die set (no outside cutting edge) and the inside cutting edge to create a frame.  Once cut, I left the dies in place then inked the entire piece with Peacock Feather distress ink then removed the die and added mounting foam to the back of the piece.  I stamped the Honey Flower stamp in black Archival ink and cut it out with the inner die from the Stockholm die set.  I inked it with Peacock Feathers around the edge and Tattered Rose in the centre for a sort of sunset-ish feel.  I recessed it back down into the centre of the larger piece and glued it into place.  I mounted everything on a larger piece of milk card and cut four Scandinavian border dies to fit around the edge to give it a lacy effect.  I completed the card with my signature pierced edge out of milk card.  The next thin mat was milk card that was inked with matching Peacock Feather distress ink along the very edge.  A final milk mat was ten added.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    morning Sue
What a colourful gift to start the last working day of the week for some people.
I love the Peacock Blue. It's such a happy colour and fits so well with today's dies and that beautiful stamp in the middle instead of a sentiment just finishes everything off. I would love a gift like this to come through my letterbox.

Cameeli - when are you coming back? You're missed. I hope you've got thing sorted after the fire. Hugs.
    Norah - How are you?
Wheeleybad - Hope all is well.
Steph - I'm 100% behind you for a 'stand alone Sue Wilson TV show'. Wouldn't that be fantastic!!

After a really lovely week we have had heavy rain during the night and it's still damp and grey this morning. How much of the local market we'll see this moning is still in the melting pot.

Just a little update on those animal lovers. I've had an update from my eldest Daughter and her animal family - they had a call from the TV programme called DIY SOS to say that they were filming in Heanor and had knocked down a wall and in doing so found a nest with bird chicks in it. So SIL went and fetched it. At the moment they are feeding OK so fingers crossed. They have also had in this last week a Pigeon with a broken wing and a Sparrow Hawk also with a damaged wing. The farm had just four sheep left to lamb and then the cows start calving on the 20th of this month. All the Hedgepigs are now out and about so they are really busy!!!!

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Like others, I too thought it was a new embossing folder what a fabulous way to use the border die. I am in fact using this border die at the moment on a card, I'm in the middle of adding pearls. It's such a pretty border and I'm finding that it's my 'go to' die. Peacock feathers is such a pretty colour and makes the card Pop! Although I have the dies I haven't got the matching stamps yet they are gorgeous so I must get them. I'm off to the caravan for a couple of days so hope the weather stays fine.

Very clever use of the border. The centre stamped piece is lovely. Really like the peacock blue as well.
Janet - your daughter certainly seems to have her hands full!
Off to Newcastle today to buy a new wedding ring as I lost my engagement ring last year and my wedding ring was made to match it so looks a bit odd on it's own. Anyway Dave is going to treat me for my 60th birthday next month so I'm going to order it today and it will take about 4-5 weeks so that will be just in time!
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can. Love and hugs to you all. Alison xx

  129. Good evening Sue,
Like the stamped image very much and it is a clever way to create a background using a border die, but I am so sorry to say the card is not one of my favourites. Sorry.

Sheila, so brave of you to come back so soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Nikki.

    Love and hugs for all.

I must remember how you ink your paper to get the color effect you want or need for your project. I saw you do this on one of your videos. Unfortunately, I forgot yesterday and found myself flipping though every paper pad I have looking for just the right shade of a color that I needed for a card. Just think, I could have inked the sheet and/or the edges to suit my need! Oh My!
