Hello there my crafty friends! We have a
New York Collection card up for grabs today! Just leave me a comment on today's post if you would like to be included in the drawing later this month. I started by cutting two of the
Madison Squares in
coconut white card, one with the centre cut out. I stamped my sentiment in the centre of the solid die cut and embossed it in gold. I added our new
strip pearls in white around the inside edge of the frame. I mounted it in the upper corner of a larger piece of white card. Using both the
Complete petal and the Open Petal Camellia die sets, I created a variety of flowers out of
vintage gold card. I mounted these around the bottom corner of the die along with several
Mosaic Leaves, Trailing Ivy and Splendid Swirls (and the twiddlybit that is also part of that set) that I also cut out of
coconut white card. I scattered a few
small white flatback pearls around the background as well. I added a white paper pierced mat layer, then a thin gold card mat and a final white mat to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeletePHASE 1 the BATH is over thank goodness, poochies were quite happy to follow me upstairs until they realised that their towels were up here too and in the bathroom. Managed to grab Cully and get her in the bath unfortunately Tilly decided she could help . It was like trying to hold onto a slippery seal, lucky I rembered to use some hairdresser clips to anchor my glasses to my head cuz last bath time where the little bs jigged around so much my glasses kept coming off!!!!. Eventually got Cully rinsed off, laid the nice big towel on the floor ready shoved Tilly out and picked up Cully , put her down, grabbed the towel at the same time Tilly decided to barge back in knocking me off balance and giving Cully the opportunity for the biggest SHAKE of her life. Walls, bath surround, floor, radiator, door and ME got hit ( you must have guessed with my two that I was already wetter than if I'd had a shower) they should make drying a dog after a bath an olympic sport cuz I definitely deserve a medal. Both done, bathroom tidied, me changed when I noticed the right little b's had gone downstairs. I flew down the stairs into the lounge where right on cue the divas were rubbing themselves all over the settees and scatter cushions. Shrieking for the blighters to get off before I lose what brain cells I have left , the precious princesses ( hubbys term for them) jumped down to then sit and look at me. Lost it then cuz they both looked like they had put their paws in an electric socket cuz their fur was standing up at all different angles. Brushed them down and said that mum needed a well earned sit down, just in time for hubby to come through the door say " my little princesses have had a bath and don't you look good " followed by " Lynne did you get wet?" All I can say is God grant me patience but hurry.
Phase 2 today the haircut and knowing my two things can only get worse.
Lol and hugs to all lynne & clean but for how long devious divas x x x x

Hi Sue - a truly lovely card. I do like the way you have off-centred the message as it makes a change from being in the centre and I shall be copying this style as I like the way it leaves plenty of space for embellishment. Beautiful card Sue.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, stunning!
Sorry I didn't leave a comment yesterday. I thought I'd leave one later in the day, but then we decided to play golf as it was so lovely. Have to say this was the first time we've played for a year and a half! Needless to say I was absolutely shattered after it and then forgot to comment! It was a game of two halves as well - the first nine holes were a disaster but the second nine were good fortunately. - so there is hope!
P in Wales, I love my eBosser have had it since they first came out. It cuts easily and embosses beautifully.
Steph hope your stay in hospital is not too bad. Wheely hope you're feeling better today and hope things go well next week.
Lynne I've been laughing at the pooches antics at bath Time! I used to resign myself to the fact that I would end up soaking wet so used to shower our dog in my underwear or less. - not a pretty sight I hasten to add! - but at least it saved me having to dry all my clothes!!
Love and hugs to all, Alison xx

ReplyDeleteWOW Sue this is stunning today, absolutely stunning. What a beautiful wedding card this would make for my special niece who is getting married later this year and one that i know she would keep. Must get the other dies to make it so they have jumped to the top of the list. Thank you Sue for giving such stunning inspiration.
Oh Lynne, just think the bathroom might have needed cleaned from top to bottom and the precious princesses were just helping you to achieve this all at the same time saving you another trip up the stairs and extra water so were on conservation watch you see. You just don't appreciate just how thoughtful your little baby girls can be ;D. Sorry couldn't resist, did you get hurt when they did their tag act getting out of the ring? When i used to bath Milly(mum's wee dog)it was down to the undies as i didn't have a wet suit of even one of those rainsuits that the kiddies have for splashing in puddles now as that and well and you would be away(although i am not saying where to).
Lorraine, i hope you have a lovely happy birthday flower and that you get at least something that we consider of use and not something for the kitchen or bathroom like i get. Have a great day.
Sheila and Nikki sending you hugs and prayers in the hope that they help you get through this most difficult of times.
Well it is like the frozen north up here today so i am going to pin out the two shawls i have knitted for Kirsten's friends who have just had twin girls, Erin and Isla. So i shall wish everyone a lovely day and see you all tomorrow hopefully. Sending hugs to all my angels both on blog and not at the moment.
Love and crafty hugs

Sue and I gad a lovely afternoon yesterday, firstly we visited our crafty sister Pat , it was such a delight to see her up and about and laughing too, we did have a giggle, hopefully Pat will be up to a bit of crafting next week,
Sue and I then came back here and we were determined to get an Izzy bag made, Sue made hers all in cream card, she said it was her prototype, so I wasn't allowed to photograph it! I finished mine, I went for a brown and cream theme and the finished bag is on my blog today, feel free to pop across, although I will warn you there are a crazy bunch of ladies in the 'cafe' , but we have lots of giggles !
Lynne M, my oh my you were a very brave last attempting the bathing of Tilly & Cully, I had the picture of two perfectly groomed and fluffy pooches and you stood there with water dripping from your hair and clothes! You poor thing! I hope you got dried off and warmed up. Love and hugs x
Alison, I am glad you took advantage of that gorgeous weather yesterday and enjoyed a game of golf, I ts not something I could ever attempt but there are some amazing sights to enjoy, there is a stunning golf course just by where we stay in Spain, it would be a treat just to walk round it and take in the breathtaking views!
Well I must go and see what the kittens are up to ad there is a bit of a commotion coming from the hall way.
Love and hugs to all,
Sandra xxxxxxxx

ReplyDeleteI really like the New York collection and best of all I actually have it! So I love seeing what you design using these dies, your cards are always an inspiration and this one's no different. Love it! Love to everyone especially if today is a difficult one for whatever reason, I understand difficult days! Sarah
ReplyDeleteAnother proper 'Sue' card full of Heather T's lushisnees which made me laugh. Love the swirly dies and twiddly bits. Altogether gorgeous, who wouldn't want to win this?!

Lovely card again Sue. Such a clean, bright fresh looking card with just enough colour. Like others I have been trying to get the camelia dies, everybody wants them because of the beautiful samples you have made with them. Guess I just have to be patient!

Even though your card is mostly white on white, you manage to create the most lovely of designs incorporating such dimension as to draw your eye into the collage. Those gold camellia flowers are splendid. Yes, I would love to win this card!

A stunning card - love it all - love the twiddly bits too - I have not seen this die (can't believe that) and make paper twirls using a wooden bamboo stick but s bit fiddly - I put some on a card a few posts ago but not sure how sturdy they are so will have to look out for this die xx GailT xx

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteAmazing, stunning... just beautiful. Gold on white works so well and I think I'll try this for my step mum's 50th.
Quickie today, rotten headache all day due to neck spasm and computer/ phone screens are not helping!
Sorry it's short, hopefully I'll get my act together tomorrow before my P.A. takes me to pick up my "magic glasses" to hopefully stop seeing the world in stereo! Seeing one of my Dads tomorrow evening to buy him a birthday dinner, so will be busy tomorrow. If I don't stop by before town I'll be popping in before bedtime
Hugs to Steph, hope your stay in hospital will help, happy birthday Lorraine, hugs and best wishes, Still thinking of Sheila and Nikki xxx I know a few of my Wilsonette freinds have injuries at present so big hugs to all of you. Hugs and happy crafty wishes to Wilsonettes everywhere, extra hugs if you are ill, recovering or in any sort of pain.
Good night,
