Fabulous Day

Good morning all!  I thought I would show off one of the pretty matching stamps for the Spanish Collection with today's card.  On aqua card, I stamped the Floral Cartouche stamp using a black archival ink pad.  I cut it out with the outer cutting edge of the Valencia die.  I coloured the stamped image with Distress markers and highlighted areas with a soft lead white pencil.  To create the background I used the Quilted Flower embossing folder with a piece of coconut white card.  I wrapped some zircon green seam binding around opposite corners and taped the ends to the back.  I used mounting foam on my stamped die cut and added it the centre of the card.  I stamped a sentiment and then cut it out with the Fancy Framed Tags One set.  I inked it through the die with some Tumbled Glass and Dusty Concord distress inks and mounted it in the middle of the card.  I tied a messy bow with the zircon seam binding and added some Bakers Twine before finishing it with a white crystal sparkler in the centre.  I made two fancy stick pins to adorn the bow.  The rest of the card was completed with some matting and layering with both aqua and white card and a pierced mat layer.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

After the grass episode with poochies on Saturday it was agreed that poochies would be with hubby yesterday in the garden while I had some time in craftroom. Well it started off ok but with my two little b's it went downhill fast. Enjoying colouring in a stamped image of flowers hear hubby calling me , ran down the stairs and out into the garden - what do do you want I said - Cully nudged a pebble out of that plant tub he said ( have several top heavy plants on patio so put pebbles on top of tub to stop them blowing over in the wind) - well put back the pebble then I said and went back to craft. "Lynne " gets called out minutes later , so yet again run downstairs and out to garden . "Tilly's just done it now " says hubby , so I say yet again put the pebble back then and return to craft muttering to myself like Mutley out of the wacky races cartoon . After waiting for 10 mins thought yes I've now got peace. No Cully does the pebble trick again whilst hubby is watching her and he just had to call me back down to tell me. Sometimes I don't think he realises how close he is to a clip round the ear!!! Darling I say with gritted teeth I dont need to know everything poochies are doing. Back upstairs I go with the intention of clearing up cuz lost the urge to craft now , "LYNNE" come quick , oh what now - Tilly's swiped the stick I was using to repot my seedlings hubby moans - Welcome to my world I tell hubby and DO NOT call me again, my sympathies now lie with yoyos cuz I know how they feel!!!!. The rest of the day was spent running interference between hubby and poochies cuz they wanted to help with the gardening by digging up what hubby was trying to plant out. So definitely gonna try for a lazy day today.

Norah - a plastic sheet with water would save me keep washing the kitchen floor x x
Lindsay - glad foals enjoyed the sunshine.
Magpie - chaos would ensue if my two met your budgies x x

  87. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a stunning card Sue, just everything about it makes it simply stunning. It is coming through as a beautiful ocean sort of colour and out of all your stamps that you have out to coincide with your dies, this is the only one i do have,WHOOPPEE playtime here i come.
Pam, as if us women would stoop to such a thing as hide and seek with our things.
Dawn, i hope you have a lovely time with your great niece this afternoon and a very happy 5th birthday to her.
I hope the Beavers had a great weekend away at "camp". I used to help out at the Rainbows when my daughter was young just so that they could continue on as they were short on staff and i didn't mind and it was a joy to see the smiles on the little ones faces. Parents want their children to go to these things but don't want to help when it is needed to keep them alive for the children. Great times and so much fun teaching the children crafty things and some of the old fashioned games that i played at the Brownies.
Gail i hope you and your hubby had a lovely time out at the theatre and for a meal. I know that your mind would still be wandering to your brother, but i trust that you did gain a wee bit benefit from the day.
Oh Tina flower, i am so, so sorry to hear about your dear dad. Words cannot express how down and sad i am for you as i know just how much it hurts. We are all here for you when you need us with cyber hugs and wee prayers being sent your way. Thank you Steph for letting us know about Tina and please pass on our hugs and thoughts to her please.
Well after the weekend of the sun playing hide and seek with us, i am hoping that it will stay out today. I just seemed to say that we had it and then it would disappear for the day, so fingers crossed that it stays out today. EVERYTHING is finished partaining to the front door and it looks so lovely in place. Inside and out, hubby has totally finished and papered the wee front hall that it is in. I think someone must have swapped my hubby for a lookalike as this finishing off is SO unusual and not normal, but i think i will keep the lookalike as he does a much better job than the original.
See you all tomorrow hopefully, gentle hugs to our special and fragile friends today,
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)

  106. Sue please don't go showing the Spanish collection and their beautiful stamps, (I haven't managed to get them yet, thinking I'm saving the best Til last!). Absolutely stunning card, what a talented lady you are.
Tina having lost my father two years ago my heart goes out to you and your family at this very sad time, have consolation he is no longer suffering and can now have a well deserved rest.
Lynne I feel for you, I really do, as if you don't know what those girls get up to! Norah think you should definitely keep the new improved husband, sounds like a better deal, Gail so glad you had a lovely night out.

  119. Hi Sue, a fabulous card to go with the fabulous day I am hoping for. Washing out and drying, passed my annual M.O.T. at the doctor's and am now having a coffee outside and letting the sun warm my aching bones (from all the digging I did yesterday) before I start again.
Lynne, I think the sun must have gone to your fur babies heads, my puddy tats are all flopped about lazing in the sunshine and totally ignoring the birds who are going daft at the feeding station.
Tina, so sorry to hear about your dad, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Hoping for a fabulous day for everyone else.

  137. Hi Sue,
    Hi to all crafting friends,
What a beautiful card today Sue! I love everything about it - the colours used, the stamp, the colouring , bow and sparkler. Someone mentioned they look a bit plasticky - not in real life - they do really sparkle. Thanks for all the close up shots of each element! You really are a star!
Oven broke down on Friday - mended today! Tumble dryer broke today! Was only finishing off some bath towels! Aargh!
Crafting with the children again today so should be fun! Also played piggy in the middle last week! Getting a bit long in the tooth for that!
Steph thanks for letting us know about Tina's Dad. x
Tina - so very sorry to learn of your sad news. Losing a Dad is hard. Good Dads are real treasures and when I think of my Dad now it's always with a smile because he was lovely! You have my sincere sympathy. x
Gail pleased you had a lovely night out.
Norah - I think it was the excellent labouring job you did that made all the difference! x
    Have a lovely day everyone.
    Love Myra
