  70. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
I cheated and found this gem yesterday on youtube and it is maybe the one to turn me from not liking darker cards into a lover, as i really found this striking Sue. The black embossing powder really does take the embossed part up a number of notches and the iced rose... it's so pretty. Yip a definite Wonder of Wilson.
To all going to SECC this Sunday i definitely will have a WOW badge on with it's customary bow and some bling of course so just look out for the dafty with a scooter and her badge and you'll just know its me. My hubby wonders just why i can't act my age and be sensible. This life is too short to act sensible all the time and you only get the one chance to life so enjoy what you can and keep the serious for the necessary. So come on who's going to join me in wearing our badge proudly? No point in wearing a C&C badge as they are allergic to coming north of the border.
Sam, i think that if someone who had been doing crafts for 15 years has asked you a relative newby in years i would take that as a complement and she must see your gift and rate it highly. I think we are all hard on ourselves and scared at times that it wont be up to what the person wants or is looking for, but they have asked you for a reason so allow yourself that wee bit pride in the work you are doing as someone else rates it highly.
I hope that Tres and Tandy, you are feeling a wee bit better today. It doesn't take that long to go down the hill but i know trying to get back up it to semi normality seems to take forever. Take it slow and do what we tell new mums to do... have a nap or a break as often as you do when you have a newborn. If folk can't accept you how you are when they come they are the losers. Your real friends and family should know how hard it is for you and be able to accept your bad days as well as your good.
Steph i enjoyed the Bunty i think well after when i should have. My "daddy" always got my Bunty for me every week and one week the lassie in the papershop says to him "John, your lassie must be getting big now. You've been buying that comic for years now, how old is she now". What did he turn around and reply, "oh she's 23 now". Now in my defense it was a scrimmage as to who got in first read it and since my mum had never had one when she was young, she pinched mine. Oh the happy days of the Four Mary's and Bunty's next outfit. And i think i possibly still have my collection in my cupboard down at mum's.
Awh well, now that reminiscing is out i think i shall go and leave you now and hope to see you all tomorrow. Back to reality and Jack as he has been busy outside, so take care everyone,
    Sending love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)

    To All The Wonderful Wilsonettes
Norah I'm so Proud of you for going to your Craft Show and wearing with PRIDE your "WOW" Badge I would never wear a Create and Craft badge as I've been let down by them a couple of times, I only watch when Sue/Julia or Someone from Creative Expression is on! Norah What a wonderful kind lady you are for your kind words, by the way the lady I made the Card for was thrilled with results, you care so deeply about others, which is wonderful, I got my inspiration from Sue for my Card.
Hugs to All you Wilsonettes x

  136. Hi Sue.
Thanks for today's video.....an island of tranquility in an otherwise hectic day!! You're right that other colours would look fab too as I really like the format of this one. I'm at last getting to grips with 'pinning' but going through all the historic blog posts might take a little while! Vicki x

  137. Hello Sue,
What a beautiful card, it's not a colour I would have chosen but putting it with black-and-white it stands with the best, the sugared rose is exquisite and I love embossing black-on-black it really adds a touch of class.
Thank you Sue for showing us this brilliant video and all the wonderful techniques you've been included.
    Take care, Love Brenda xxx

  138. Hellooooooo to you Sue and all the Wilsonettes! Thank you for the great video Sue. Susan P and Rose, they are a great learning curb on how to do different techniques. Easier than written instructions sometimes! This card is gorgeous! Black embossing on black card is stunning. I love how the embossing powder "melts" to the shiny/raised effect. It is so theraputic watching "go".... like you say too Sue it gives the card a focal point. Love the colours. They are the colours of the card "Thinking of You" that I was lucky enough to win on a Wednesday card giveaway! It was even more beautiful in real life. It can be done so wishing all you ladies good luck for tomorrow! So sorry about your boiler Steph and that you have had to use Walter Hottle bottle. It's usually the case that outside is warmer than the inside! I hope it has been mended now. Oh my goodness! I remember Bunty....can't remember how far back that was. I had Mandy too and my sister had Twinkle, plus The Beano and The Dandy....I was a late fifties baby?! Great idea Moyra about the dazzler or the W.O.W badge! It would be lovely to meet up with our Sue's blog family in person. Norah, you are so right that we can be so hard on ourselves with our cards.....Tina sending you big big hugs and loving thoughts and to all those who need one today, and everyday. I have never known a blog family who feel so close to each other. I am soooo glad that I joined you Sue! It's a wonderful privilage to be a part of it. xx Love Karen xx

  158. Hi Sue and all Wilsonettes. P in Wales, thinking of you on this awful day, I really am.
I have no idea where the day goes at the moment, it seems as soon as I get up its time for bed ! It doesn't help when my brain feels a few years younger than my body, and I just cant seem to 'get cracking' much before its almost time to think about our evening meal !! Think Im on a slow wind down which is NO use to me at all.
I do love your video days Sue, and for once I can say I have the border dies and the main focal stamp, but not the background stamp, but Im sure I can improvise when stamina allows.
Hope all you ladies are able to meet up at the show, it will be a very memorable time for you all and a great time to enjoy.

Thank you for another beautiful card Sue, your blog is my saviour, and.I'll never be able to express my appreciation enough.
Hugs to you all. Thinking of you Tina

  160. Hi Sue
    Hi Everyone,
I thought I had done this hours ago but heyho ! Here goes again! Internet access here is spasmodic so let's blame that. I have been unable to see the video because of the above but I can see the photos! I do like the raspberry and black combo and the rose, bow and pearls are lovely! Will watch the video all being well on my return home. However the card gets a thumbs up from me !
Steph, - Bunty - wow what a blast from the past! Something I looked forward to every week. Had forgotten about Walter but the four Marys were unforgetable. At that age my crafting expertise was embroidery and making paper clothes for dolls like the ones on Bunty - had a shoe box full of them!
Norah! I only wish I could see you wearing your Wow badge with bow and dazzler! Life is too short to be too serious! We need to have fun! Enjoy!
I'm rambling so I'd better stop!
    Love to all, Myra

  165. What a fantastic dramatic colour
    combination. Sadly I don't have
any raspberry card but I'm sure
it will work well with other
colours. If I can use up some
    of the cardstock I've already
got then perhaps I can justify
    treating myself! The sugared
    rose is beautiful. Saving the
    video for tomorrow.
