Speedy Recovery

Good Sunday Morning all!  How's this for a bit of glam, gold and silver glam too!  I started by covering a piece of coconut white card with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing paper off and covered it with Persian Dawn gilding flakes.  Once covered I embossed it with the Sea Garden embossing folder. I lightly rubbed the Black Soot Distress pad over the top to bring out the pattern a bit more.  I matted it on soft gold card and then went to work on my focal element.  I cut a Delicate Doily die in white as a backdrop for my buckle feature.  I used Labels 20 and cut five frames of varying sizes, one large, 2 medium and 2 small.  I cut a strip of silver card with two forked ends and wove it between all the frames to create the buckle portion of the card.  Next I stamped my sentiment from the Justrite stamps Labels 20 Get Well set.  I heat embossed it in silver and cut it out with the Majestic Labels 25 die.  I used some brushed pewter distress stain to highlight it while it was still in the die.  I mounted it on top of my buckle feature using mounting foam.  I finished the card with a double white mat and used the Cosmic Shimmer Silver PVA glue to put dots all the way around the inner mat layer.   I added some pearl swirls as final touches to the card.  Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8 1/2" in size.

Now on to the Sunday Comment Game Winners.  This weeks winners are:

Mabe Hardman!!!
Rose Greenbank!!!
Sam Smithard!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize!  All for now, Sue x

  111. Yooohooo, anyone in ? Cooor, thought Id be locked out Im so late ! Been making two 1st birthday cards for a lady that gave me an order from my last Farmers Market/craft fair, 2 for the same little boy with Cousin on one and Great Nephew on t'other both with his name on, photo sent to see if she wants to make any changes before I stick it all down and put the inserts in, and my hands are screaming and pleading "NO MORE" !! So I had to call it a day, look at my favourite blog and watch my two favourite skaters.
Well hello Sue and all Wilsonettes, Sue, it must be wonderful to be back in temps of 75+ sharing time and love with family and friends, talking of family and friends - CONGRATULATIONS to Rose, Sam and Mabe, isn't it a wonderful but sureal feeling to see your name as winners ? Enjoy your gift ladies : )
Sue, you certainly know how to lift spirits with this card today, a wonderful WOW - Wonder Of Wilson, I've spent many months in hospital over the past couple of years, and I would have felt the luckiest lady to receive a card like this, I have also SENT many a get well card, but NONE anywhere as beautiful as this, but in time maybe that will all change as Im ordering lots of colours of Foundation card, so Im making a start, and thanks to you and all the beautiful dies, stamps, and embossing folders you bring to us, once I've got my A4 'mangle' there should be a 'different' look to what I try and produce, it will take time before I own a new mangle, so until then I will just do my best with the things I love : )
Well my hands are really humming now, so I'll bid you a nice evening/afternoon (for Sue) and hope you all stay safe in this awful weather we are having again.
Lots of hugs to everyone, see you tomorrow.
