Welcome Baby

Hi bloggers!  Although this looks like quite a bright yellow, it is really just a very soft custard card, with coconut white and a thin black mat. It's a good colour combo when you don't know the sex of the baby ahead of time too. I just love this Crisscross background die so I picked it to use with this one.  I did, however, resist putting pearls on every one of the tiny squares this time! LOL  Just the outside ones got pearls this time!  I cut it out of coconut white then extended it slightly for a larger background.  I mounted it on foam pieces for dimension and placed it over the custard card.  I cut one of the Vintage Bracket and Label dies out of custard card then I cut another one out of black card.  I split the black one to use as a tiny shadow behind the yellow one.  I cut three of the
tags from that set out of white card and arranged them behind my sentiment.  It was stamped from the Special Delivery set by Justrite in black Archival ink on custard card.  I stamped the tiny feet in Mustard seed in the centre over the sentiment.  I cut them out with Vintage Labels five, added two pearls to the sides and seated it in the centre of my focal element.  I finished the card with four corners cut from the Moroccan Motif die set and added pearls to the centres of each of them.  I did a bit of matting and layering with custard and black before adding my final double white pierced mats to finish the card.  You could easily add ribbon or flowers to this one to dress it up more, but I liked the simplicity of it.  Finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue, and all the crafty crew, a very elegant card for any baby, I love the Moroccan motif die set.
Not much sign of the weather improving this weekend, but hope everyone is safe and warm. I will be staying inside as I still have a stinker of a cold and need to be well to go to back work on Monday.

I love the background of today's gift but as yet have not managed to purchase it. I so reminds me of parchment craft but far far easier to do!!

  36. Morning Sue, A beautiful baby card, I adore the criss cross die, and I had to chuckle when you said you resisted the urge to put a pearl in the centre of all the crosses, but they were at the corners haha. Loving the colours, the custard does look quite dark on the piccie. I love the simplicity of this because the background die-cut is very effective on it's own.

  81. Good afternoon Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Well that's the brain gone into overdrive again today. The lattice on top of a pale pink or blue with another piece cut across the corner and laid on top with the satin edging that all baby blankets used to have with a bow at the peak and we have a baby blanket that i had as an infant. see now Sue you introduce these new stamps and set our minds whirling not knowing what to start with first. Really sad upbringing, i seen pictures in the clouds, the fire, hills. See told you sad upbringing left the mind to imagine so imagination goes into overdrive. Sue you have us getting withdrawal symptoms through the lace of bows and flowers.
Well i hope that everyone is dry and warm where they are, as it is not nice out there at all. At Costa de Glenochil it is miserable with the rain yet again. Sue please bring some of the warmth and sun back with you when you come back to your home on this side of the Atlantic Ocean.
Take care everyone until tomorrow and hopefully see you all again then,
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)

Just made my list of Foundation card to order, so many to choose from, but cant wait to start using it - eventually. My daughters friend (who is doing a reading at the wedding in June) is in hospital and in labour right now, so I may have to try and get the new baby stamp sooner than I really should ! But its so beautiful, both new mom and new baby deserve a card as stunning as this. Thank you Sue. Well considering I wont be 'starting again' so wont receive yesterday's or today's card, I have now a reason to get allll slushy : )
