Good Sunday morning friends! At least once or twice a month I go through this ritual where I am absolutely positive that I have posted a card and I search for it only finding it nowhere to be found. I am sure there will come a day when you let me know that I put one up twice, but I think I am okay for today. I did demo this card on the tv so maybe that is why it just seems as though I have posted it! It has a bunch of layers to it so tuck in for the lengthy description or you can just scroll to the bottom of the post to see if your name was drawn as a winner! LOL
I started with a piece of glossy white card to give it a faux mother of pearl look. To do this, you need to use a cello bag scrunched up in your hand and dab it into some white pearl paint (I used the Ranger Pearl paint), then pounce it lightly over your card. It really does give it a lovely effect too. Since I was putting it together with soft gold card pieces, I decided to use a light touch and add some Enchanted Gold gilding wax to the background in spots too. Once I was happy with the finished piece, I used my Interlocking Circles embossing folder on it to give it some texture. I matted it on a piece of soft gold card and went to work on the next layer. I covered a piece of coconut white card with a sticky adhesive sheet. I used the insert from the Resplendent Rectangle set to cut a pretty pattern in it, then peeled the backing paper off and micro beaded it. I left a bit of a border on it, but rounded the corners and added some flatback pearls to it and matted it with soft gold card to show through the insert design. I added mounting foam to the back then centred it on my background. Next I stamped the Scrolled Vines (CE Stamps To Die For line) and heat embossed it in white. I cut it out with the matching Labels 30 die. I cut an additional Labels 30 in soft gold card. I cut this down the centre then mounted the pieces as a shadow mat for the top and bottom of the original stamped die cut. I stamped my sentiment and embossed it in gold then cut it out with the Splendid Circles die and mounted it in the centre of my card. I tied a double bow out of gold silky crush ribbon and added a pearl embellishment to the middle. I trimmed the ends of the bow and used the leftover bits to make three small flowers for the opposite corner. These flowers are made by melting the ribbon and gluing them together and finishing them with a pearl in the centre. To complete the card, I added a double white mat and Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots around the edge to frame it. Finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size.
