One For The Guys

Hello there bloggers!  The last day of the special giveaway this week, but tomorrow will be filled with weekly comment game winners (loads of them!) so don't be discouraged if your name wasn't drawn today.  The winner is:

PaulineA!!!

Email me to confirm your address and receive your prize (americansue1@gmail.com)

I decided to post this one as I get lots of emails asking about cards for guys.  To me, it is a classic guy sort of card and it is easy to do which makes it even better!  I started with some decorative paper from my stash (I think it is BoBunny, but I a not 100% certain on that! Any masculine print will work).  I covered it with a piece of self adhesive sticky sheet, peeled the backing paper off and micro beaded it.  I just can't help myself, I love the texture!  I cut a strip of milk card on the diagonal.  I stamped on it with the Rye Flourish stamp from Heartfelt Creations using only a clear Perfect Medium pad so it gives a watermark effect.  I cut two borders from edgeability dies using the scallop cutting edge and a dotty insert piece.  I glued the borders so they were peeking out from behind my stamped strip, added some mounting foam to the back and attached it to my card.  I stamped my sentiment which is from the Classic Sentiments set from Creative Expressions.  I stamped it using a black archival ink pad and heat embossed it with clear powder and cut it out with Labels 18 die.   I used my Rye grass flourish again and added some soft detail to it to match my strip.  I added some Labels 18 Nestabling in black to the edge and mounted it on my strip with foam.  I did a bit of matting by adding a thin milk layer to offset the main piece then added a final double pierced mat in black.  I added a black rhinestone swirl as the finishing touch to the top of the card. Now you are all ready to tackle those difficult guy cards by just changing the sentiment to suit!  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x
