Best Birthday Wishes

Good morning bloggers!  Today's card was from the JustRite shows back in March just to mix it up a bit.  I started by picking that pale green shade of card and adding coconut white card in the mix with it.  I wanted to give the bottom of the card a fancy treatment, but decided to try something other than a petticoat look.  I decided to go for a wide slatted look.  To achieve this, I cut narrow strips of white card and added some mounting foam to the back of them.  I scored the white card at 1/2 inch increments and added my slats to every other one.  I like the way it looks as it gives the bottom a bit of interest without taking over.  I used a piece of white silky crush ribbon cut down the centre as a border between the two sections.  I tied a double bow and added it to the side of the card with a glue dot.  A green Dazzler was a perfect match to the card I picked.  I added two pearl stick pins to complete the bow.  For my focal element, I stamped the Vintage Labels two stamp from JustRite's Live, Laugh, Love set using a black Archival ink pad and cut it out with the matching die.  I mounted it in the centre of my card in a vertical orientation.  I stamped it again, but this time using a clear Perfect Medium pad on the green card.  I heat embossed it with white powder.  I cut it out with the matching die and a smaller die to create a frame this time.  I mounted this one horizontally across my sentiment framing it.  I cut a tag from the Ornate Square set and nipped the ends off to use as corners.  I added some flatback white pearls to the corners and central die cut as accents.  I added a thin black black then a double white mat with a pierced inner layer to complete my card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.

Time for the Sunday Comment game winners.  This week's winners are:
Kitty Davies!!!
Christine Harrop!!!
Jan N!!!

For the extra qualifying post of June 11th, the winners are:
Jacquie J!!!
Carolyn B!!!
"P" in Wales!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  I don't post any of the prizes until you email, so don't forget!

One more little thing, I just wanted to let everyone know that I have added (with help from someone who knows how!) a Pin It button.  Just hover the mouse over the card you would like to pin and the icon will appear and then just click it.  If you haven't been to the Pinterest website, it is my favourite guilty pleasure as there is just so much fun stuff on it, have a look  (only when you have some spare time, because you will be hooked and hours will go by!)  All for now, Sue x

    morning Sue
A very beautiful gift today in some lovely calming colours. I also think this tone of green is so soothing/peaceful - and lets face it we all need some of this at times -.
I love the format and the bottom piece is really different and reminds me of a lovely white garden fence.
Thank you for the 'pin' - I have seen this on friends photos and never got round to asking what exactly is this? So now I can have a look see. I know I live well behind the times but do sometimes get there.
Congratulations to all the lucky winners - I still with many bloggers have all crossed that someday our names will appear.

Congratulations to the winners especially my friend Christine!

Lovely card Sue I like the strips at the bottom but felt perhaps a bit narrower would have looked perhaps a wee bit more subtle, maybe just me but my eyes seemed to be drawn to the strips before the rest of the card just a thought but I do love how you try new innovative things and pass them on to us. I would definitely try them. I love the way you have done the labels.

Thank you also for explaining about the Pinterest button I was getting very annoyed as I was sitting hovering with the mouse over the image! ROFL!

I thought I had done something wrong on the computer as I have been messing around joining Bloglovin for my blog ready for the 1st July when google reader is ending and was convinced I had somehow added something I did not want. Computers eh?

The live laugh love set is definitely on my wish list !! I love the rest of your card to. More good ideas so thank you for sharing them.
