For Someone So Special

Hi my crafty friends!  White just looks so pretty when pared with any colour, doesn't it!  I just love it with red myself, such a pretty pop of colour.  I'm back to my Elegant Labels Four set for today's card.  I embossed some white card using my Cascading Heart embossing folder.  Then I decided I would cut an aperture using the Elegant Labels Four set.  Ordinarily, I would cut first, then emboss so as not to flatten the embossing, but I wasn't quite sure where I was going with this one when I started!  I decided that I liked the look of it when I added some red card behind it as it really made the die cut pop out.  I used a small heart border die to cut both of the edges.  It was part of one of the set from designer Becky Fleck called On The Edge.   I added some mounting foam to the back of the background to raise it for dimension.  I glued the die cut so it was recessed within the aperture.  I stamped my sentiment on white card  with a black archival ink pad.  I covered it with a piece of self adhesive sticky sheet.  I cut it out with one of the smaller dies in the Stately Circle set.  On a bit of a whim, I thought I would try something.  That is, I used a smaller die and added some embossing to the piece.  Ordinarily, I would say do not emboss when using the sticky sheets as it just causes the backing paper to break into little pieces.  However, I thought this might work since most of the sheet was actually covered by the die I was using to emboss with which protected the sheet from cracking.  I peeled the backing paper off and covered it with Rock Candy Dry Glitter.  You can see the embossed detail in the close up pics.  I added a messy bow tied from Lipstick Red seam binding and added a clear heart Dazzler to the centre and two pearl stick pins.  I finished the card with a double white mat and a paper pierced the inner layer to frame the card.  Is red your colour?  Finished dimensions are 6" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    morning Sue
Another dull but dry start to this Monday morning.
Although red is not my particular colour I do have to make some gifts using it and this one I defy anyone receiving it not to love it.
I love the format for today and though I haven't this particular eboard yet I can see one of your other boards looking just as good. You used 'elegant' dies and it shows today's gift is truly elegant and could be used for many occasions and for all ages.
Unfortunately no crafting for me today as I have to start getting ready to leave on Thursday - I hate this part of any time away. I always get stressed but of course love the result.

(cards take me a long time to make because of my fatigue.) For my fathers day stuff I made cards with matching decorated gift bags and a little wallet each with some money in. I really had some fun making them. At last I am now free to start playing with my beloved radiant rectangle dies !! I am making two of them probably both in teal card. as I love it so much !!
