Miss You

Hello everyone!  When I first was sent the prototypes for my new A4 embossing folders (after doing a bit of a happy dance, that is! LOL), I embossed a piece of my soft gold card with the Sea Garden embossing folder.  I was completely smitten with it and then I used a Black Soot Distress ink pad over the top of it and I knew I was in love!  I just adore the antique look it gives that soft gold card and the embossing was the icing on the cake for me.  I used a portion of the sheet to create this simple card.  I matted it on white to brighten it and add balance too.  I used the Stately Circles (the regular sized set, not the Grands)  for my focal element.  This is another beautiful set too.  I used the largest die, skipped one and then used the two smaller dies to create this.  Once cut, I used the Sea Garden folder again to give it texture.  I left the dies in place, so that means I had to leave my folder open so it did not get cut into.  I placed them on my open folder, laid the tan mat over them and added a few sheets of card to make up for the depth that I lost from the folder being open.  Then I cover it with my raspberry plate and rolled it through my GC.  The embossing will only show on the areas that are not covered by the dies left in place.  I used some foam mounting to create different heights in the circles to make it more interesting.  I stamped my sentiment on soft gold card then positioned my circles over it.  I used a piece of white silky crush ribbon down the centre of the card and tucked the ends to the back and taped them.  I added a double bow below my focal element and finished it with a pearl embellishment and black stick pins.  I gave the card a double mat of black card and pierced the inner mat with my piercing ruler.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.

Gorgeous gorgeous card I adore the soft gold and colouring it with the black soot makes it look antique. I have your A4 folders and not played with all of them yet so today it will be giving this one a try out as I also have the stately circles dies. Weather bit miserable today so I guess its a play day for crafting.

The black soot really compliments the soft gold card I love so much, have quite a bit of it now from Sam, can't bear the thought of running out, lol, same with the teal & taupe card.

    Dear Sue
Love the antique gold look and the embossing folder used I must admit I was very happy when I got these set of embossing folders. I must try this technique of embossing then running a distress ink over it as it looks great.
Love the stately circles centrepiece it looks fab, I had to reread the explanation of how to get the embossing on the circles with the border around to imagine how it was done but that's just me being slow.
I as always love the bow and stick pins as it always finishes the card wonderfully and really sets it off a treat.

    Congrats to the winners today.

    Best wishes from Katie-Louise Sweetlove
