Thinking Of You

Good morning all!  I always take a chance when I pick up my dark papers, but I just fell in love with this tiny rose pattern on the black background and yes, I had to see it micro beaded!  I have showcased it with my blush card and coconut white card too so it lightens it up a bit.  I started by micro beading the entire background piece.  Next I cut two of the Layered Scalloped Posy die by Heartfelt Creations in blush card.  I mounted them so they were radiating out from a centre strip of white card.  I used the Rye Grass Flourish by Heartfelt Creations all over the strip and white embossed it for interest.  I matted the strip on blush and black card.  Next I cut the Timeless Amour heart in both white card and the rose patterned paper from the background.  I embossed the white inner heart with the small polka dot patterned mask.  I tape the pieces of the heart back together using the centre from the white card and the edge from the patterned paper.  I mounted it on foam in the centre of the strip. I stamped my sentiment from JustRite Stamps and cut it out with the smallest heart in the set.  I inked it lightly with Spun Sugar Distress ink for a highlight and mounted it in the centre of my heart.  I tied a messy bow out of the Flesh coloured seam binding.  I made a black rose using the technique from the tutorial at the top of the blog and added it to the centre of my bow.  I finished my embellishment with two black crystal stick pins.  I added  black rhinestone swirls in the corners.  I matted my card with a blush coloured double mat and pierced the inner layer to complete my card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  13. Hi Sue,
A lovely card. I don't normally do hearts on cards but there's plenty of other shapes I could choose from.
I like to make A6 and 6" x 6" cards. I would love to see how you would make a card that is 6" x 6" when it is matted, layered and complete.
    Any chance? :-)
Have a great Bank Holiday weekend.

A contrast to yesterday however although not a lover as you know of the dark cards the background paper is beautiful and with the blush is exquisite.

I am thinking on reflection it is the black and white cards that I am not a lover of and if there is a lovely soft colour as here with the black then it makes a difference for me. I really like it.
