Teal Medallion Birthday

Hello crafters!  Teal, lovely teal today.  Today's card uses the Justrite medallion stamps throughout.  I started by stamping it all over a piece of black card using a clear perfect medium pad.  I clear embossed them for a bit of interest to my background.  Next I stamped it on my teal card using a black archival ink pad.  I covered the piece with a sticky adhesive sheet, peeled the backing paper off and covered it with micro beads for texture.  I did a bit of matting and layering to help pop the piece out a bit. Then I stamped the medallion one final time in black on white card and cut it out with the matching Justrite medallion die.  I stamped the frame from the Always and forever set in black ink, cut it out with the matching oval medallion die.  I used broken China distress ink to highlight the edges while in the die.  I mounted it in the centre with foam for dimension.  I pierced the edges of the black mat as a finishing frame.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  8. Oh, I love this teal and black combination. Fantastic embossing but I am kinda missing a bit of something shiny, maybe few rhinestones to give it a bling. Of course now the look is masculine and would go so well as a men's card.

Hope you have a lovely and relaxing weekend. Hugs, Eemeli

  10. Morning Sue what a great card. The colours give it such a dramatic look! I love both these colours. I do have a teal colour card but didn't get it from C&C as they didn't stock it when I needed it! I made the seating plan and table settings for a charity ball my friend was doing for Bliss (babies born too small, too sick, too soon) the charity colour s a shade of teal so we used this as the main colour for the settings and table decorations etc. it was truly amazing! morning Sue - Here in Burgundy we still have snow but temps are down to -6 this morning.
I now have another favourite colour in my swatch pad - TEAL - of course so today's card is really for me. The colour combo is just so right and for the male in our live ideal. My new dies are waiting for me in the UK as I will not pay £15 pounds postage for them to be delivered to me hear in France.

Although i think your recent cards are super and less complex which is also great, i find myself missing your more girly style - having withdrawal symptoms for your usual finishing touches of ribbons and bows lol! I know you said you want to live outside your comfort zone this year but I kinda love what your style is in there so please don't forsake it altogether!!!

I remember seeing you demo this on C & C and thought how effective it was. My new multibuy from thr CHA special arrived yesterday but C & C staff managed to pick two of one die and left out another so I now have the bother of sending one back and waiting for the missing one once I am able to get out again which I don't think will be for a few days. Had some more snow overnight here in Suffolk to add to what we have alrady had and more promised.....still at least I can't feel guilty if I spend time crafting!!
