Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  I almost forgot that I had an extra of this card, just ready to give away!  I started by cutting an oval aperture in the top pf a piece of milk card.    I embossed the aperture with the Jacobean Embossing folder for texture.  I cut four of the Ornamental Accents out of milk card and attached them to the inside of the oval so the tips touched in the centre.  I added a piece of milk card as a backing.  Using the Double Pierced Oval Nobles, I created a multi layered fame using both milk and blush card.  I added them with foam around the aperture.  I cut four more of the same die from the Ornamental Accents out of blush card.  I nipped away the tails of each of them and placed two going the same direction on each side.  I made a flower using the Exquisite Poppies out of milk card and snipped into each of the petals to give the flowers a different look.  I inked it around the edges with Spun Sugar and added it with Olive Branch accents in the middle of the border.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out and added it with foam in the centre of the focal element.  I added pearl corners to the upper areas on the card.  The card was completed with milk and blush mats.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card!  All for now, Sue x

Thank You

Hello crafters!  Another Triple Gemini card, but this one uses the Cepheus die set.  I started with a piece of wisteria card and used the smaller side of the die set to cut into the background four times.  I used the longer decorative piece from the set to cut the design around the outside of the design.  I backed the entire piece with black card, then used Black Soot distress ink lightly around the edges to shadow and frame it.  I matted it with a piece of white card.  I stamped my sentiment from the Large Elegant Sentiment clear stamp set.  I used the inside die from the Madeleine die set to create a frame by cutting it in white.  I backed it with wisteria, then cut the centre out of it.  I added mounting foam and seated it over my sentiment, adding it the the centre of the card.  I cut three butterflies from the Butterfly Background die and glittered them all with Diamond Snow (using spray glue) and added them on to my card.  I completed the card with white, wisteria and black mats.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Double Gemini Sunday

Good Sunday morning all!  Two cards today both using the Pictor Triple Gemini die.  For the first card, I started by embossing a piece of milk card with the Blossom Brocade embossing folder to give the background some texture.  Using one side of the Pictor die, I cut a piece of vintage silver card, using one cutting edge.  I laid my background on top where I wanted it then taped the die to the other side of the silver card so it would be lined up, removed the background, then cut the matching side.  Next I went back to the milk card and used the other decorative die of the Pictor and cut it into the edge of the card using the matching cutting edge.  I repeated the same process, but this time used my silver piece as a guide to where I needed to tape the die into place on the other side.  Removed the background and cut the other side of the card.  I taped all the pieces together, then used my scissors to nip away the extra bit of milk card so that it was even with the silver on the sides.  I cut the Bern die out of silver card, backed it with milk then cut the centre out to create a frame.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it.  I stamped my sentiment (from a Phill Martin stamp set) and seated the frame over it.  I cut one more Bern die out of milk card, nipped it in half, then added it to the edges of the silver focal element before attaching it to the centre of the card.  I pierced a milk mat, added a thin silver mat and a final milk mat.  I cut a strip of cream double pearls down the centre and added a row to the top and bottom edges to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  Scroll down for card no. 2

For card number two, I decided on a rather unusual colour combo of purple, gold and milk.  I cut one side of the Pictor die in milk card twice and backed it in purple card.  Next I cut a piece of vintage gold card on the top and bottom edges with the other die in the Pictor set.  I taped the purple side pieces in place so they were peeking out from underneath the gold piece.  I cut the Zurich die in milk card and added it to the centre of the gold piece.  I stamped my sentiment using a Purple Violet Archival ink pad and created a small frame around it using the inside die from the Zurich die set.  I added a purple backing to it, then cut the centre out to create the frame.  I seated it over my sentiment and then added it to the centre of the card.  I added cream flatback pearls as accents and finished the card with milk, gold and purple mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.
