All The Best
Hello all! This card is a good example of using Christmas dies to make a non Christmas sort of card. I selected a piece of the pink and white stripe paper from the Dots 'N Stripes Paper Pad. Using the Round Corner Squares, I cut a white fame to go over the striped background. I used a pie e of the dotty pink paper and cut a thin frame out of it. I glued it on top of the white frame as an accent. I cut the Oval Wreath Frame out of white card. I used Distress inks to colour the greenery and flowers. I cut a multi-layered frame in white for the centre of the card using the Double Stitched Ovals. I added it with mounting foam, then cut the All The Best sentiment out of pale pink. I used the shadow backing die and added it to the centre of the frame. I made two corner pieces with the extra flower, inked them then added them in opposite corners. The card was completed with white mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh how pretty this card is today, lovely in pink and your right about a Christmas die not being a just for Christmas, very clever xx
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Oh wow, what a wonderful way to start the pre festive week with festive dies that aren't festive dies.
ReplyDeleteI love the effects your frames give, they just look so neat and pristine, one thing that totally amazes me and something I've never managed is such a thin frame cut from paper nor cardstock, when I've tried using paper it's always buckled, I've spent an hour getting it straight and trying to avoid it going squiffy so I've given up in the end, I'd love to see a tutorial on placing a thin paper frame like this onto a cardstock frame as you've done here.
So it's a beautiful piece of inspiration....
Don't tell anyone lol but 'Happy (noble) birthday to me.
Love to all that visit today hope everyone is feeling a little better xxx

My young niece has a Christmas day birthday 🎂 but woe betide us if we put anything to do with Christmas on her birthday card ! ! !. Thankyou Sue.

Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteAs children we were always made to "do as we were told" and that has continued to some extent, then you tell us that a Christmas die isn't just a Christmas die. Now I'm seriously out of my comfort zone. lol
Just shows how versatile lots of your dies are.
Lovely card.

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue. Love the design of this card but not too sure about the colours which really jar on my screen. I think it must be to do with the way it has come across on the laptop as you are so good at putting different colours together.
