Birthday Wishes

Hello bloggers!  I selected a piece of white card and used the Scalloped Poinsettia Border and cut it into the card on both ends.  Next I used the Daisy Rectangle and cut it out of white card.  I used Ocean card and cut the extra flower dies and glued them underneath on the Daisy Rectangle die.  I cut the shadow backing piece out of aqua card and glued the rectangle to it then seated it in the centre of the card.  I used white PVA Glue dots on all the little round bits on the frame.  I cut the Birthday Wishes Block Sentiment out of Ocean card, then added the words cut out of white card.   I used the scalloped die from the Jewelled Scalloped Border and added one on either side of the focal element. The card was completed with white and Ocean  mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8"  x  9"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Hi Sue and all that visit today. Hope your pain has eased Trish xx
Packing up for home today, we leave the peace and quiet of the countryside until New Year's eve. At least I can relax before the madness begins which ends up rearranging the boot several times lol.
Your new borders are absolutely stunning and to be honest that's all you need to make something quick and very special, but I can never ignore the gorgeous scalloped border, its soooo pretty. I need to top up so much cardstock before I can start my festive cards and I'm lost since Joanna Sheen retired! I do hope we'll see more block sentiments during next year, they are so incredibly useful.
    Love to all xxx

  6. Morning Sue, I agree with Theresa, the scalloped border really is a stunner and reminds me of the wedding/birthday cakes which my Grandma used to ice!
It must have taken you ages Sue to complete this card with the lovely daisies and pearls etc, but well worth the effort.

  21. Hi Sue

Wow, this is a stunning card. Love it! The poinsettia scalloped border looks great on any card but I especially like how you have used it with the daisy rectangle. The flowers and the pva glue dots finish it off perfectly. I also love the ocean, aqua and white card colours together.

  24. Hi Sue, a beautiful card with so much attention to the smallest detail as with the PVA dots on the frame. I ordered the Scalloped Poinsettia Border at the week-end and also slipped in a few others - well it is my birthday present from my husband for later in the week :-)

  29. Hi Sue
    Happy Monday everyone x
Well it’s been ages. Over 8 months. Won’t bore you with the details but I’ve had a challenging year and been completely out of action. Really hoping that I am back and this years issues are behind me. So glad to be back.
What a beautiful card to greet me on my first visit to the blog for such a long time. I am completely out of the loop with all things crafty at the moment so be patient with me whilst I get my head back in the game. Love the ocean card - is that a new colour? It blends perfectly with the aqua. I am a blue fan - any shade of blue and it’s a winner in my eyes. The Daisy rectangle and Scalloped border are gorgeous. Don’t recognise them so presuming they're new dies from one of the many launches I have missed. The delicate PVA glue dots are like an old friend - always welcome.
My crafty stash is festering having been redundant this year. My crafting days this year - zero. Truly hoping that will be rectified very soon. At the moment I’m just glad to be back and hopeful that I’m here to stay.
Take care one and all x
Sending you all positive thoughts x
