Hi bloggers! I started this card by using one of the dies from the Paulette Edgers on the sides of the card. I cut a single decorative edger into the card on both sides. I used the Joanie die and cut it into the card twice in between the two edgers, slightly over lapping. I added a black shadow underneath the two side edgers. In the centre, I added a piece of sticky adhesive sheet that just covered the Joanie dies. I used Iced Snow to add sparkle to the exposed adhesive areas on the front, then covered the back of the card on the two sides with a piece of Blue Dusk card. I cut the largest die in the Joanie set with Blue Dusk and added a base piece in the centre of the card. Next I cut the Joanie die in both white and black and shadowed it. I cut a backing out of sky blue card then added all of them to the blue Dusk base piece. I cut just the outer decorative frame area out of black and nipped it in half. I glued the two pieces to the top and bottom area, extending them slightly. I stamped my sentiment and put a sticky adhesive piece over it, then glittered it with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz. I used the insdie die from the Double Stitched Circles to create a small white frame and added it over the sentiment. I trimmed the excess away and mounted it in the centre. I used three small blue flowers as accents on the bottom of the frame. The card was completed with white, blue dusk and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 8 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. I love the simplicity to today's inspiration, no embossing folder but you've cut into the card to give it decoration, but then you've built up and shadowed. I really need to concentrate on your written method as I can't read and view the sample together on my phone but it looks like you paper pieced the Joanie die, but it's absolutely beautiful and I so wish I could think of some new designs everyday as you do.
ReplyDeleteSo however you're spending your day please.....

Hi Sue. There is so much detail in this card and so many different layers! I really love it when you cut into the card and place glitter behind it then sit the main image on top of it as you don't really notice this at first glance.
