Hi bloggers! This one is a different sort of colour combo, but I really liked the way it turned out! I started with a piece of the Silver Sparkle Alcohol ink card from Ranger. I cut the You Make My Heart Smile All In One die twice, once out of Antique Gold card and once out of Gold mirror card. I glued the gold mirror card behind the Antique Gold card as an offset shadow and then glued the die to the Silver Sparkle card. I used the extra flower die from the Magnolia Corner die set and created some simple white flowers for the top left and bottom right corners. I used the corner die cut up as leaves for the flowers. The card was completed with white, Antique Gold and Gold Mirror card mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6" x 7" in size. All for now Sue x

Hi Sue. I do love to add shadowing behind some dies, but I really really struggle with the smaller dies (thank goodness for your shadow sentiments/expression dies) but I hold my breath when I use mirror card even with CS glue one wrong move can show up on mirror cardstock plus it's not easy to get 'eye's on' first time to accomplish the perfect shadow effect so what's your trick Sue to get your shadow so spot on, not only spot on but with the tiniest hint of mirror card shadowing the vintage gold, I'm sure I'd turn blue trying to attempt shadowing on such a large all in one die, not a good look lol. Super duper inspiration today Sue. Have a good one xxx

Hello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, love the die with the shadow but I really, really love the alcohol ink background. I have some alcohol inks and bought some yupo but haven't tried it yet. You have inspired me to have a go now. The flower accents are lovely too.

ReplyDeleteLovely elegant post....
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. I do like creations made using different colours of metallic card although sometimes I find mirror card a bit too brash. This is a great way of adding mirror card in a very small amount which I think looks great.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card, it just goes to show that silver and gold do go together!
ReplyDeleteA stunning card. I have always liked gold and silver together. The combination of the mirror card, Silver Sparkle card and the Antique Gold card plays very nicely together. Your accents of white flowers and leaves from the Magnolia Corner set is perfect for the golds and silver.
ReplyDeleteLovely card I have never thought of doing a drop shadow with all golds
ReplyDeleteHI Sue, "you make my heart smile" with this lovely card. I love the sparkle of the silver and the richness of the gold. Wonderful card. Hugs.
