Hi crafters! This one started with a pixie powder background and cling film! I selected the Teal Wash, Pale Olive and Straw Yellow pixies and sprinkled them all over a piece of coconut white card. I spritzed them with water and covered them with a piece of cling film, then scrunched it to create interesting lines. I allowed it to dry over night, then removed the cling film. Next I cut the decorative die from the Joanie die set into the card in opposite corners. I covered another piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet, peeled the backing off and added the background over it. I used Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz on the exposed adhesive areas. Next I cut the Dream Circle die in white and added it to a white shadow backing. I cut the die again out of a left over piece of the backing and paper pieced the fall away back into the white die cut version. I used the Joanie die's outer cut die to cut a thin decorative frame and added it around the Dream Circle as an accent. I added three white pearls in opposite corners, then completed the card with white mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size. All for now. Sue x

Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very pretty card and, lovely colour, thank you.
Take care and have fun Kitty.
Hi Sue. This inspiration is a Dream to wake up to. I really love the effect of pixie powders but pixie powders + cling film = absolute beauty (now I've got the technique right) I had a roll of cling film in my cupboard for years, but it gives me greater pleasure to use it for my background than it did to cover a boring old bowl lol I'm fact I've a background of pale blue pixie powders and cling which looks so gorgeous I don't want to use it cuz I know I won't ever get a repeat. But I just love how the background shows the beauty of your Joanie die and your Dream circle, if only all my dreams were as pretty. Sending beautiful dreams your way xxx

Beautiful! Love the colour & the effects which can be achieved with cling film. Thank you Sue for all your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteI had trouble finding you again this morning and I must say that it was worth the hassle to be shown this dreamy card.
I just love the background and will perhaps have another try with the clingfilm. I've tried twice with pretty disastrous results so maybe I could get a third time lucky.
It's not only the background of your card that I love, it's the whole thing and I will be coming back to it later in the day.
Thank you for the inspiration.

Oh I do love that, so pretty, that pixie colour background is stunning...luv Ursula xx
ReplyDeleteSue I LOVE the effect that the pixie powder background gives to the Joanie die!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card design today and I am loving the pixie powder areas. I am surprised the outer line of the sentiment shows enough in white to be read. My white on white letters do not seem to stand out enough to be read. The clingwrap technique looks great over the pixie powders. I have not tried the clingwrap over pixies yet, but I did try the clingwrap over a couple of pages using CS Lustre polish. Thank you for sharing. Hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! Love the color of the background and the design as well. Thanks you for showing us a different way to use the decorative die from the Joanie die set and the Joanie die's outer cut die as a frame. The beautiful green background showcase the circle die quite nicely.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Toronto to you all,
Carmen-Dorothy
Hi Sue. There are 2 things I really like about this card. Firstly the effect that is made using it to cut the decorative corners into the card and secondly, the really slim border that you can create with it. Love this card.
ReplyDeleteLisbeth
The green background, using the Pixie Powders and cling wrap, is a colorful and beautiful background for the dies you have chosen. Great card! Hugs.
