Hi bloggers! We are hanging out with the
Abigail die today! I used the decorative die and cut it twice into a piece of coconut white card. It slightly overlapped in the centre so there was a bit of overcut that needed to be covered. I cut the
Abigail one more time using the outer cutting edge. I used lilac card to back the die and mounted it in a diamond orientation in the centre to cover the over cut area. I cut the centre section and backed it with lilac card too. I used the
Layered Carnation to make three dimensional flowers. I covered them with glue and sprinkled
Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz all over them. I seated them in opposite corners and accented them with leaves. I cut the Just Because sentiment in white and use a lilac and black card as a shadow and mounted it in the middle of the card. The card was completed with white, black and lilac mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 10" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue, such a pretty and ornate looking card, a beautiful die. Have a great day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteA very pretty card in a lovely soft colour combination. X
Such a pretty card, everything about it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue. Do you think you and Beverly share the same brain by any chance ? I adore how you cut into cardstock with Abigail then use her as the main focal point, I tried that once some years ago and ended up with a wide gaping hole with no pattern, nothing but a hole lol I'd like to think I'd picked up enough knowledge from you and other talented crafters to get it right, but one thing I do know is that I could never ever make anything as beautiful as this or similar and who would guess your delicate flower buds started as layered carnations, so pretty. Have a lovely day however you are spending it xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Abigail really looks beautiful. I love that little bit of sparkle on the layered carnation. I always end up looking like I have had a fight in a glitter factory whenever I use Glitterbitz or any glitter! Gorgeous card.
Happy Tuesday everyone

Good Morning Sue. As always a beautiful card. I love it and the colours. I agree with Yvonne concerning the glitter. No matter how care full I am ....I come out looking like a sparkling fairy. Somehow I always manage to spill it or knock the pot over.... every time. But I love the effect it gives. And I am going to try cutting into the card .... like Steph I too ended up with a big hole in the middle when I tried it. I guess we have to take measurements into account for these sort of things. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteAbigail is certainly looking splendid in lilac and white this morning, so lovely and delicate with all of her curves and swirls. The glittered mat (which I don't think you mentioned) gives a delicate sparkle to the card. I love this die and have used it many, many times.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi Sue, a really pretty card today. I love all the swirls and curls of Abigail and she looks lovely whether cut into or out of the card, the lilac really shows her off beautifully. I admit I hadn't noticed the glittered border until Beverly mentioned it so I enlarged the picture and got the full benefit; it ties in with the glittered carnations and this is why you are the designer and we are just the followers :-)

ReplyDeleteA beautiful, delicate looking card, so restful, the sort of card which makes an ideal Get Well Soon card. Thank you Sue.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what I love the most: the lilac color - so soft, Abigail cut into the card - so elegant and delicate or Abigail cut out of the card - a pretty main focal point. But for sure this card is a winner. The way you used Abigail here gave me ideas how to use some of your dies.Thank you.
