Hello crafters! I started this card by selecting a blue and white palette. I used the decorative die from the Eliza die set to cut two slightly overlapping die cuts into a piece of Blue Dusk card. I backed it with white card then added a thin back mat. Next I cut another Eliza out of white using the outer cutting edge and backed it in Blue Dusk card. I mounted that over the overlapped area in the background. I stamped the Stamp To Die For called Lottie's Garland and cut it out with the matching Lottie die. I sponged Faded Jeans around the outer edge for some quick colour. I mounted it with foam in the centre of the card. I cut the Thinking Of You Mini Expression in black twice and stacked them and glued them into the centre of the stamped image. The card was completed with white, black and Blue Dusk mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6" x 9 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. Is it just me but Monday's seem to get here so quickly but I'm not complaining when it starts with a gorgeous sample like this, so delicate and intricut. I love how you've cut into the card with Lottie die and stamp showing her beauty on top. I've just made a CAS card using Lottie, this is the perfect way to start a new week. Enjoy your day xxx
ReplyDeleteHello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteHow different a die looks when cut into card and also when stamped and cut out for the feature. The blue is lovely,

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, another beautiful card although rather on the large size it is great as a give away rather than a posted gift. Beautiful colours and the dies and stamps set it off lovely.

Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteLovely card which shows the versatility as well as the intricacy of your dies. Have a great week. Hugs xx Pauline
Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteI love the effect that you get from cutting into the card with your die and then layering it with the same die cut on the top. But today you took it a step farther by topping it with a stamped image of a different shape. The result is beautiful. I really like seeing your cards with the coordinating stamps, it gives a totally different feel and look to the card.
Have a great day.
Beverly

I think blue does tend to be the colour I use most and I don’t even realise I’m doing it!
Blue dusk is a gorgeous shade and as someone else mentioned it reminds me of wedgewood. Eliza is lovely and that stamp is so pretty.
Happy Monday everyone

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue. My goodness, that is a very big card! I do like it though so I will have to look through my craft stash to see if I have any dies that will enable me to make it on a smaller scale.

Good morning Sue and thank you for starting off the week with such a beautiful card. I always love the many different shades of blue that you use. Thanks to my recent card-stock win from Papermilldirect I now have more shades of blue than I ever knew existed. I am so very grateful for the inspiration that you give away on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Hi Sue, a gorgeous card. So very pretty in the white and blue using your Eliza die.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, what a coincidence that you show this card today, I have just been looking at a very old photograph of my Grandma whose name was Eliza! She would have loved this card although it would have to be made in lilac for her as that was her favourite colour. I love the Eliza die, it is so pretty can cuts beautifully. I do like this card and although I don't have Lottie or her STDF I will try something similar with a different die in remembrance of my dear Grandma.
ReplyDeleteFrances
What a pretty card today. I love the shades of blue and Eliza and Lottie play so well together. The dainty bit of stamping sets the whole card off.
