Congratulations

Good Sunday morning all!  I have a really simple card today to share with you, but one that is great if you need a quick card.  I cut the City Skyline Circle Scene die twice across a piece of mid grey card.  Next I used the left over piece from that to create a mask and taped it to a piece of coconut white card.  I used Iced Spruce Distress Oxide ink and a smoothie to apply it to the white card.  That gave me a soft backgound skyline.  I cut a circle out of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet on it, glittered it with Frosted Sparkle glitterbitz  and glued it in the sky area.  I moved my grey die cut skyline so it was offset from the one that I stencilled in and glued it into place.  I cut the Congratulations Mini Expression in white and glued it to the area below the buildings.  I think this would work easily as well for so many other occasions too.  I completed it with white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 5 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Hello Sue and all
I just love your “New York” cards and this one is fabulous with the shadow background. As you said can be used for so many occasions and I certainly have used mine over and over for everything from birthdays to thanks.

  2. Morning Sue. Clean, simple, and stylish, and as you mentioned above, panic free for a last minute card (unless your mangle breaks halfway through a pass) !!
I love all the Skyline samples you've inspired us with especially the black silhouette when you've given the impression of lit up buildings. Thanks for sharing this lovely quick idea with us and enjoy your Sunday xxx

  12. Hello Sue,

Quick and simple but so effective. Each time I see a card made using the City Skyline Circle Scene die I always think of the Skyline in New York City as you are leaving New Jersey and getting ready to go through the tunnel into NYC. The one building especially reminds me of the Empire State Building. I remember all the wonderful times I've spent there through the years. Thank you for reminding me of such happy memories.

    Have a great Sunday.
