Hello there my crafty friends! I have been wanting to show off this card using one of John Lockwood's new stamps! Isn't it gorgeous! I started with the background and used the Lattice and Lace Striplet without the outer cutting edge. I cut it three times side by side and then added some mounting foam to the back to raise it for dimension. I added it over another piece of coconut white card for a white tone on tone look. I added large 8mm white flatback pearls to the corner flowers in the striplet. Next I stamped John's Floribunda stamp using a black archival ink pad and cut it out with the matching Lisbon die. I used Distress markers to colour it in, mainly Mustard Seed Forest Moss, Worn Lipstick and Picket Fence. I stamped it again, but this time, I hand cut the large flowers and coloured them. I added them with foam above the original flowers on the stamp. I stamped my sentiment and used the Montreal and Toronto dies centre ovals to cut it out and mat it. I added it to the side with foam. I finished the card with a white pierced mat and another larger white layer. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8" in size. If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card, just leave me a comment. The winner will be drawn and announced on Saturday's blog post. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteWhat a delight and a feast for the eyes this morning. You've certainly made the start of my day beautifully.
I love your striplet dies. It doesn't matter how they are used they always work and make beautiful statements and this one certainly does just that.
It isn't one in my striplet collection YET but certainly will be when I next purchase one of your dies.
I love the new stamp and it just finishes off that gorgeous background and the sentiment says it all JUST BECAUSE.
A big thank you JUST BECAUSE you are YOU.
Well the day has started off cooler so fingers crossed that it might stay that way and give us a chance to recover from the last three weeks of scorching heat.
I might even get some crafting done as it's been really too hot to concentrate on anything.
To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue & the fabulous Wilsonettes!
ReplyDeleteWhat a little stunner, a veritable master class in Cardmaking techniques! How ingenious to use the striplet as a background, you would never have guessed, it works so seamlessly. Your striplets are so versatile and this one is a beauty. I have always had a soft spot for stamping because I have loved colouring in since I was a child, plus I have a fondness for decoupage, they are both very relaxing pursuits.
I love the way you have married the two together so effectively, the colouring itself is superbly done Sue. Johns stamp works fabulously well with your die, it is a lovely design to colour and one lucky Wilsonette will be definitely doing the happy dance on Saturday!
I'm feeling decidedly jaded this morning, Darcey was a dirty stop out last night and we were chasing her around our court at 2am trying to tempt her home-she would come tantalisingly close before prancing away like a little lamb....Grrr! Eventually conceded defeat and went to bed but couldn't sleep properly till she mossied on home at 7.30 because it was raining. She devoured a full packet of cat food before going to bed chuffed with herself, little minx!
Not much crafting going on at the minute with Wimbledon in full swing, never mind, I will catch up next week.
Have a lovely day everyone, wherever you are and whatever you are doingxxxx
Love and crafty hugs,
Laine1972xxxxxxx

ReplyDeleteHi Sue & All The Wilsonettes, I hope you all well today & enjoying good weather, wherever you live? Unfortunately, it is more like Winter than Summer in Rosemarket!
ReplyDeleteThankfully, I am feeling a lot better than I was this time last week! I apologise if I depressed anyone, with my constant moaning but I really was poorly! I went to the hospital yesterday, for my 'pre-op', so now I just have to sit back & wait for a date! Hopefully it won't be too long (although I don't want it to be in August, as I hope to have an annual 'three-day break'!
I hope that anyone suffering ill health, or sadness in their families, will feel stronger, VERY SOON!
