Peace

Hi crafty friends!  The response from yesterdays giveaway announcement was lovely!  I really enjoy seeing so many comments from both regulars of the blog and many new names!  Don't forget it is going on each day this week so more chances to win!  The winner from yesterdays list of comments is:

    Jan.Moogie!!!

Email me with your details to claim your prize!

On to today's card now with a classic Christmas design which uses the beautiful Festive Poinsettia stamps from Justrite.  These sold out very quickly during their premiere on one of Julia's shows and I will be showing them again on my Sept. 29th Toolshed shows if you are interested.  I started with the background which uses the Basketweave embossing folder on a piece of coconut white card.  I matted it with soft gold card.  I cut a wide strip of coconut white card and stamped my sentiment (from Creative Expressions set called Winter Greetings) on the side and embossed it with gold powder.  I matted this piece with soft gold card as well and taped it across my background.  Using the Festive Poinsettia stamps, I stamped them on red card using a clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed them all with gold powder and cut them out with the matching poinsettia dies.  I used a foam mat and a stylus to give them a roundness and glued them together offset to create my flowers.  I stamped the leaves on to green card using a clear Perfect Medium pad and dusted them with gold mica powder for a softer look.  I cut them out with the matching dies as well and tucked them under the edges of my two poinsettia flowers.  I added white flatback pearls to the centres of the flowers and added a pearl swirl across the bottom of my card.  I finished with a double white pierced mat as usual.  Finished dimensions are 8" x 8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

What a fabulously, opulent, striking card! I just luv it so much. The layout could be used for other dies etc. You must eat, breathe and sleep design, do you have a pad by the side of your bed to jot things down when they come to you?
Thank you for such wonderful inspiration you give me.
