Hi blog friends! I am now on the last week here in Florida and because I am excited about getting back, I thought I would do a giveaway prize every day this week until I leave on Sunday (which will be back to the comment game giveaway as usual). I am going to pick one name from the previous days comments and post it the very next day. Today's winner is:
Heather T!!!

For today's card, I have used the Bargello technique for my background. Usually I select decorative papers for this technique, but I thought I would see what it looked like with varying shades of purples. I picked four different shades and cut them into 3/4" strips. I reassembled them taping the strips on a piece of copy paper in order from lightest to darkest, then repeated the pattern until the page was full. Then, I cut them across the colours in 3/4" strips again so each strip had little squares of all the colours. I reassembled the strips again this time taping them in an up/down pattern. I used my Tapestry embossing folder to emboss the entire background to give it texture. For my focal element, I decided to keep it very simple so I stamped one of the decorative stamps from the Celebrations Labels One set and embossed it in white. I cut it out with a large Fleur de Lis Square and mounted it on the diagonal in the centre of my background. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Decorative Labels One die. I used Dusty Concord to ink it while still in the die. I mounted it on the diagonal as well and added some flatback pearls to the corners of the background and the die cuts. I finished the card with a double white pierced mat. It could be easily dressed up with flowers or other embellishments if desired. Finished dimensions are 7" x 7" in size. Don't forget to leave a comment and then check back tomorrow to see if your name has been drawn! All for now, Sue x
