Hi guys! I thought I would show you another sample from Sunday's shows. This one uses another one of the sets and matching dies on offer. I really like this set as it is something quite from the norm. The bundle has some crackin' stamps for the guys in it too (there will be many guy cards to follow!) I started by simply stamping a piece of black card with the lace medallion stamp using a clear perfect medium pad. I used clear embossing powder and heat embossed so you catch glimpses of the medallion all over the background. Since it is tone on tone though, it isn't overwhelming, just interesting. Next I used the largest size of the Justrite Vintage Label and Banner die set to cut an aperture in the background. I settled on a deep rose coloured card and embossed it using the Floral embossing folder by Creative Expressions. I used a bit of mounting foam on my background to raise it for dimension and placed it over my embossed rose coloured piece. Next I stamped a border using the Classic Embroidered Edges Two by JustRite Stamps using a black archival ink pad on my rose card. I layered it with a thin mat of blush card and glued it in place towards the bottom of my card. I tied a messy bow out of black american seam binding and added a fancy button to the centre. Next I stamped the JustRite Pearl Label stamp on blush card with a black archival ink pad. I cut it out with the matching smaller die in the set. I stamped it again and this time just cut out the centre with a small scalloped oval die. I did some very light inking with Spun Sugar distress ink while it was still in the die. I stamped my sentiment in the centre. I mounted these two pieces with foam and then placed them in the centre of my aperture, completing my focal element. Now the fun part! I made flowers from leftover pieces of silky crush ribbon. You only need an inch or less for these, so save your scraps, these are so easy! Cut them into small circular-ish pieces of differing sizes. Hold them in the middle of the circle with a pokey tool and one at a time, heat until the edges melt a bit. Glue one or two together and add a flatback pearl to the centre to finish your flower. I did several and cascaded them down my card (I love that look!) I pierced the edges of my matted blush card layers to complete my card. Finished Dimensions 7 x 8 1/4" in size. If you aren't a pink person, just picture it in teal or lavender or taupe! It really will work nicely with any colour you desire. I hope you like it! All for now, Sue x
