Good morning all! I managed to get a quick pic of this card before they swept it away from me to be sent off to the email recipient (If you have ever wondered what the carpeting looks like in the halls of Create and Craft, look no further than behind the card! LOL) It was an impromptu demo that was based on another card. We had sold out of the ribbon so I had to change the card around a bit to make use of what I had left. This was the last demo I was allowed to do using the clear micro beads ( that I completely love!) too. I picked a piece of background paper from my stash, this happens to be Graphic 45. I adhered the sticky adhesive sheet to it and then cut it to the size that I wanted. I peeled the other side of the backing paper to expose the sticky sheet and covered it in the clear micro beads. Now I know my photographic skills are legendary (legendary because they are sooooo bad), so you will have to really look closely at the background to see the micro beads. When you see them in real life, they are really nice and give a lovely textural feel to your cards and projects. I also stamped my sentiment on a piece of matching card, peeled the backing off the sticky sheet and applied it over my sentiment. I used the small size of the Splendid Circle die to align over the sentiment and cut it. |You can see through the backing paper just enough to get your sentiment where you need it. Once cut, peel the backing paper off and cover with the micro beads. The beads are clear enough that you can read the sentiment without issue. I think the picture looks like there is glitter on it , but it is just the shine from the beads. I backed my sentiment with a Persian accent piece and then centred it in the largest Splendid circle die cut into a frame out of black card. I cut two more circles, using the next two smaller sizes to create three circle frames on my card. I added a messy bow using the black American seam binding and topped it with one of the lacy layered flower dies. I added two lattice corners at the top. I ran out of time, but I think a couple of lattice corners for the bottom would have finished it off nicely (imagine them there, okay!) I pierced the edge as I do and called it a day! All for now, Sue x

Gotta get the micro beads Lovely card
ReplyDeletesue. Hope you are having an enjoyable time in the sun!
Wonderful card Sue, the colours and slightly restrained appearance (for you!!) would also allow it to be a sympathy card I think. Those microbeads are becoming a real must-have.
ReplyDeleteFor an impromtu card, this is magnicficent. the black and greys are lovely. I've just received my grand caliber with morrocan motifs this week and am awaiting the arrival of all the new dies. so cann't wait to get going. I have been having a wonderful time using the dies from the last multibuy, so feel I'm catching up a little with my crafting tools
ReplyDeleteSue, gosh I really need those micro beads! I keep looking at the card I won out of the spotty potty when Dean was on with you, it has the beads with some of your famous Teal colour behind them, it's so tactile and just lovely., you are so clever. You must bring the beads back please when you're on TV again. A beauty of a card again today. Alison :)
ReplyDeleteGosh - to be able to think of an impromptu card as good as this is so impressive! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky recipient to receive such a gorgeous card
ReplyDeleteAnother stunning card and the fact that you had to wing it just shows how wonderfully talented you are. Just one teeny weeny criticism - you are so bad for my bank balance Sue.
ReplyDeleteLove the micro beads - just had to have those and as for your lattice dies, I cant seem to make a card at the moment without using them somewhere on it.
For your next creation for spellbinders any chance of including some large scrolls and flourushes (absolutely love the one under your name on the spellbinders designer page).
Jacqui xxxx
Hi Sue, another lovely card. The micro beads are fab, must put them on my list.

Another beautiful design and the fact that you had to wing it just demonstrates so eloquently what a talented designer you are.
ReplyDeleteI of course had to have your dies and the micro beads and at the moment I cant seem to make a card without either one or the other appearing.
Can I make a request - next time you are meeting with spellbinders to talk new dies, any chance you could ask for some large scroll and flourish dies, absolutely adore the one under your name on the designer page of their website.
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get your ideas from? Love this card and the use of the dies with the sentiment.
Geraldine

Hi Sue, I wouldn't have mentioned it but as Julia already has ... yes, I got Micky Mouse too! but I think it's just the angle of the photo as I didn't notice him on tv. Anyway, I've got to get the micro beads too. I think I'm buying things faster than I can get to play with them at the moment! Today's bow is the one I bought the flower dies for as I loved it and wanted to copy - but they haven't been out of the packet yet. So much craft shopping, so little time .... (mind, I sometimes think the shopping, the craft telly, the shows and, most importantly, your much loved blog, are the best bits of crafting!) Have a great weekend, Sue x
ReplyDeleteLovely card, I would love to be able to create this 'on the hop!'. Like the idea of those mircrobeads!!
