To A Dear Friend

Hello crafters!  I selected a caught in crystal piece from my background stash to use as the background for today's card.  I used Crystal Tints to create the background.  It used Lime Peridot, Pure Amethyst and Blue Aquamarine Crystal Tints.  I applied them randomly to a piece of acetate, then used my finger to move them around and fill up the sheet, then I covered them with a piece of scrunched up tissue paper and set it aside to dry overnight.  I cut the Poinsettia Scalloped Border in white and added it to the bottom of the card.  I added a thin strip of the background to the top of it.  I cut the Jocelyn die in white and cut it in half and added it as the back piece to the focal element.  I added the Priscella die cut in white on top of it.  I cut a centre rectangle and glued the To A Dear Friend sentiment to it which I cut in black.  I made a single flower using the Pinwheel Florals and added some Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz to the base of the flowers before adding the top decorative piece to it.  I cut the Magnolia Corner in white and used it as a leafy accent for the flower.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4"  x  8 3/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Morning Sue and all wilsonettes, another gorgeous card, although for me personally I keep looking at the background rather than the white panels, so I would perhaps have a lighter or subtle background, but that is my choice Sue I am not criticising you at all. Any of my friends would love to receive a card like this.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  3. Hi Sue.
Although I'd have chosen a different background colour (personal choice as I've never been a fan of anything green) the choice of dies cut in white look absolutely beautiful.
Hope our family are doing well, and as healthy as can be. Sending love to all that visit today xxx

  7. Good Morning Sue. As well as blue ... green is also another of my favourite colours ... so yes today's card suits me very well. And I love the trellis border.. I have this one and I must use it more. So thankyou for the inspiration Sue. Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone who needs them today. Please stay safe and well 🙏. Kind regards Ann Toppcards in Leeds.

Sue please forgive me if you don't see my posts for the next few weeks. I am writing this post on our way to the airport to my lovely favourite place in Turkey. If I can get some Internet I will look in. I hope so because I hate to miss anything.

I have my own stash of caught in crystal backgrounds waiting patiently til I get back into the crafty saddle. At the moment my activity levels are pretty low, which is incredibly frustrating. Hey ho 🙄
