Just Because

Hello crafters!  Do you recall me saying that I have been trying to use up some of my scrap card?  Well this card is another one of those creations that uses a bit of card from my background stash, but it was sort of long and much thinner than most pieces that I start with, but I came up with a layout that fit the shape and size for it!  I used Tantalising Turquoise and Apple Fizz Lustre Polish all over a piece of card.  Once dry, I used the Floral Brocade embossing folder on the piece for texture.  Next I cut the Decorative Squares and cut one larger square and two smaller squares in white and with the centres of them cut out as well.  I used the outermost die from the Claire die set and cut it in white.  I added the largest frame to the centre of the card in the diamond orientation.  I attached the two smaller frames slightly overlapping on either side and the Claire die frame on top of the centre die cut.  I used the Magnolia Corner and cut it in white.  I used the small flower dies from that set and cut them out of a small piece of leftover card from the background and made a single flower.  I attached the flower to the left side of the centre frame and added the Magnolia Corner die cut nipped into pieces as accents.  I cut the Decorative Flag die in white and added the Just Because sentiment also cut from the leftover lustre polish piece.  I added the sentiment to the white shadow backing die cut and glued it onto the flag.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.   The finished dimensions are 6" x 10" in size.     All for now, Sue x

  1. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a great way to use up all those scraps - this looks amazing, the colours embossed on the background piece is the perfect backdrop to the scalloped frames, your so clever, and with the little flower too.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  11. Good Morning Sue. My oh my. What you can find in a scrap box. This is beautiful and a classic " Sue " card. I just love the embossing on that gorgeous background. I have the decorative squares ... But ... somehow they have never seemed to cut right. Maybe I should try again. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone who needs them today.

  13. Thanking everyone for their kind and best wishes for me for my X RAY yesterday. I have chipped a bone on my hip. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do. I just have to wait until it heals itself ... which I was reassured it will. My knee needs a little t.l.c. but I can put up with that for now.
    Thankyou all again 😘

  14. Hi Sue. Love that background colour and I am sure I will be using some of the elements of this card in the future as you have shown us some good ideas for using those tricky shaped leftovers that we are not sure what to do with.
