Home Tweet Home

Hi bloggers!  I have a few more bird cards to share and here is one using the Woodpecker die set.  I started by embossing a piece of white card with the Fanciful Flowers embossing folder.  I used Tumbled Glass distress ink with a smoothie and added it around the edges of the card once embossed.  Next I cut a multi-layered frame using the Square Postage Stamp Frames.  I did a larger black base frame and a thin red frame on top.  I sponged some more Tumbled Glass ink into the centre of a piece of white card and attached it to the frame as a backing piece.  I added it on an angle to the embossed background using mounting foam to raise it.  I cut the two woodpeckers from the set and coloured them with markers on their wings and head.  I sponged Antique Linen ink on their bellies.  I cut the tree stump in both brown and green and nipped the leaves off of the brown die cut then glued it on top of the green one, showing the leaves.  I seated one bird coming out of the knot hole in the tree stump and the other one flying in from the corner with a branch coming out from there.  I used the Home Tweet Home sentiment cut in red in the upper corner.  The card was completed with white, black and red mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  8 3/4"  in size.

To let you know, Jamie Rodgers will be demoing my latest Christmas dies along with some new products of his own on Crafters TV today. I apologise as I wasn't given his hours, but they maybe available on the Crafters Companion website by Thursday morning.
 All for now, Sue x

  19. Love the postage feel to this card. I love woodpeckers. My sister gets a lot of them on her feeder and they don't seem to mind us watching them on the deck. I had to treat myself to this set.
I just watched Jamie's program. Brilliant, as always.
