You Are My Sunshine

Hello bloggers!  I started by cutting the Square Aperture out of a piece of Pixie Sparkled card from my stash.  I used Beyond Blue and Groovy Grape and then used a paintbrush to combine the colours a bit.  I lined up the aperture with a piece of white card and taped the inner scalloped dies into place then cut it.  I glued the white scalloped piece to the pixied aperture and added mounting foam to raise it.  I added a white backing piece to it.  Using the Double Stitched Squares, I added a white frame on top of the pixie sparkled aperture too.  Next I used the Springtime Frame and cut it out of various colours (silver, tan. rust, green and wisteria).  Rather than cutting the entire frame each time, I just used a small piece of card over the area that I wanted.  I nipped apart the images and used them in three of the four apertures.  I used the You Are My Sunshine in the fourth aperture, cut out of a leftover piece of the pixied card and shadowed in black.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4"  x  7 1/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. It's a beautiful start to the day, in reality it's dark and damp here just now, but like the rest of your audience of bloggers we sit and wait for the warmer days. Whilst going through my 2 storage boxes of dies wondering how much my new idea for storage will cost I eventually got to my shadow dies and my other gardening dies and couldn't remember how long it's been since I cut them,I'm in the process of doing the easiest CAS 6x6 - 1 die cut, 1 sentiment and thanks to your dies it's all looking really quite nice, these sweet little springtime dies would be perfect in your Shadow dies too. Off to the farm cottage for a week of doing nothing and thinking about nothing to be ourselves again so I hope I have enough data saved to pop in,if not I'm sure 'my keeper' will help lol.
    Keep well, be safe xxx

  21. Morning Sue, a lovely way to begin the week by giving us all a beautiful card to admire instead of looking outside at this dreary weather. It reminds us that Spring isn't too far away and we can get back into our gardens once more. Crafty Hugs Pauline x

  22. Hi Sue. What a lovely card to remind us all that spring is on the way. Apparently, the weather is supposed to cheer up towards the weekend which should encourage the crocuses which are just trying to peep through the soil.

  27. Hi Sue, I love this gorgeous card and it has given me ideas for a 70th birthday card for my cousin who is a keen gardener. I thought I had the Springtime Frame but my database says no. I do however have lots of your other gardening themed dies so maybe I can work something out.

Steph - enjoy your week away and come back with your batteries fully re-charged.
