Rhino

Hello there my crafty friends!  I just love this Rhino card!  I know that rhinos aren't the cutest animals but there is something about them! LOL   I started by tapping the Animal Prints stencil to a piece of milk card.  I used Spiced Marmalade through the mask to cover the area of larger spots.  Next I used Gathered Twigs in a swatch diagonally through the centre.  I removed the mask and heat set the ink.  Next I stamped the Rhino stamp and cut it out with the matching Rhino die.  I coloured it with Distress markers (Tea Dye, Rusty Hinge, Weathered Wood and Antique Linen).   I added mounting foam to the back of the die and attached a piece of vellum to the back so the stencil pattern would show through softly.  I attached the rhino to the background with foam.  The card was completed with milk mats and layers.    The finished dimension are 8"  x 8" in size.  All for now.     I too think the Rhino has just a little something that cannot be ignored. On one of my trips to South Africa on a visit to the Kruger National Park I actually got up close to a Rhino (Quite a story) I just love the way you have coloured him/her and the soulful eyes could tell a story. Everything you have done is just perfect.

    They may not be the cutest but they are majestic, have seen very many in the wild in my life having hailed from Africa and so sad to see how their numbers are dwindling, sad state of affairs, but we will try and preserve them as best we can. Clever of you to use two different masks on your design giving a great effect. The colors you used are spot on. Using the vellum to give a softer look behind the Rhino puts the Rhino into the main "spotlight". Well done my friend. Hugs
