Elephant

Hello there my crafty friends!  Who doesn't love elephants!  I started this card by using the Pearlescent watercolours on a piece of white card.  I used the Golden Sunrise  and the Ray of Sunshine  Next I cut the trees and elephants from the African Animals die set and the African Adventure die set in black.  I glued the trees to the top of the card and elephants to the lower portion of the card.  Next, I stamped the Elephant stamp and cut it out with the matching Elephant die.  I used Distress Markers (weathered wood, rusty hinge and mustard seed)  to colour the elephant, then added it with mounting foam to the centre of the card.  I completed the card with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimension are 8"  x  9 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Hi Sue. You have bought this majestic creature to life with your amazing talent. We know you wouldn't put your name to this unless it was stunningly perfect, so I imagine when you were presented with the final prototype you were speechless. Can I just say the sample is beyond words but look deeply into the eyes, take time to take a good deep look at this beautiful picture rather than take a quick glimpse and read on - this image speaks volumes xxx

    Good Morning Sue and all.
A truly wonderful card on this beautiful sunny morning
As soon as I looked at the computer screen I was taken right back to the Kruger National Park in South Africa where the animals roam free.
I have one of the die sets you have used (and I even know where it is) so I will be coming back to this great elephant later and thank you so much Sue for the big dose of inspiration.
    Have a good day.

What a beautiful card and do you know that though Sri Lanka is an island nation we have elephants but sadly their numbers are dwindling because the forests are being inhabitaed by the people so there is a constant people elephant conflict in Sri Lanka.tc stay safe

  19. A friend of mine (who is sadly no longer with us) absolutely adored elephants and would have loved this card. I love the watercolour inks and can sit for ages painting a background with them. There’s something very therapeutic about gliding a brush over card and watching the colour materialise.
