To A Dear Friend
Hi crafters! Here's a card that I made awhile back. I used one of my backgrounds from my craft stash for the circle frames in it. The background piece was made using Teal Wash Pixie Powder and then after spritzing with water, I covered it with a piece of cling film and scrunched it up and allowed it to dry. I used the Double Stitched Ovals and cut two thin frames from it. I made the outer frame a multi-layered frame by adding it to a wider white frame. I used the Quilted Pillow Embossing folder to add texture to a piece of white card for the background of this card. I added the frames to the embossed background using mounting foam. I cut the To A Dear Friend sentiment out of a leftover piece of the pixied card as well as cutting the centres to my flowers. I glued the sentiment into the centre of the card. Using the Petal Pocket Flower die, I cut all three sizes and assembled them. I added in the blue pixied centres and arranged them in opposite corners of the frames. Using the Lace Edged Leaves, I added accents around the flowers in white. The card was completed with white mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 7 3/4" in size. All for now. Sue x
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh my goodness what fantastic colour the pixie powder teal produces, I absolutely love this colour and to put it on the embossing folder really does set it off, your so clever.

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card thank you.
It was wonderful seeing you yesterday a great demo.
Take care stay safe and have fun Kitty.
Hi Sue we had a lovely Friday afternoon here in the uk watching your demo, you certainly have opened up a new concept with your Stampcuts, there must be a innovative award out there somewhere for something so new and so different in the craft world. These will definitely have to go onto my gift list the first in a year, the first since last February when we were told our farmers market had to stop trading. I have no reason to do any crafting at present unless I get an order so boredom is just about driving me to distraction, anyone else in our beautiful group feeling the same? Oh well we've got through this without getting poorly so I shouldn't whinge, so I'll thank you Sue for a beautiful week of inspiration and for brightening our day yesterday and love and virtual hugs to all that need a big cuddle xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue and everyone, well this isn't usually my favourite embossing folder but it seems to be growing on me as I don't mind it here. Love the pops of blue too. Higs to anyone who needs one today Donna xx

Good Morning Sue. Ohhh what a beautiful card. A true Sue Wilson classic I love it. I love everything on it ... the only thing I don't have are the petal pocket flowers ... but that is not a problem ... I can use a flower die from my stash.
ReplyDeleteDONNA you must take another look at the embossing folder. In real life it's a beautiful folder and not only that it can be used for male cards as well. After Bed of Roses this Quilted Pillow is my favourite. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them today.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday everyone x
This is a true Sue card and I love it. Love the colours, love the layout - gorgeous x
Let me begin with Pixie Powders! My fave! I have played with these so much and have never tried the cling film method. As Princess Pixie I feel it my duty to rectify that situation ASAP! In fact that could be today. I had left the day free to play with your new dies but as yet they haven’t arrived so I feel a few backgrounds coming on. Lol x
The more I see the Quilted Pillow embossing folder the more it seems to be calling my name. I think it may have to come and join my folder family. I love the Petal Pocket flowers. I have these and used them a lot when I first got them. I think they will be having a day out very soon along with that large roll of cling film x
Loved your demo yesterday. Your new stampcuts really are fabulous. I am sure I am not alone in my wishing to have more added to the collection. It really is such a joy to see you back on our screens but there is just not enough of you. Roll on the days when we can have you entertaining us for much longer x
