Especially For You

Hi bloggers!  It is Pixie Powder time once again!  I started with a piece of white card and used Aqua Lagoon Pixie Powder on it all by itself!  I covered it with a piece of cling film and scrunched it to get the mica into the wrinkles.  I let it dry overnight.  Next, I used the Vivian die and cut an aperture in the centre.  I used the Quilted Pillow embossing folder to add texture surrounding the aperture, then added mounting foam to the back.  I cut the Chantilly Lace Edger in white and glued them to each side of the background.  Next I used the two outer cutting dies from the Vivian to cut a thin white frame and glued it around the aperture.  I cut the decorative die of the Vivian die set in white .  I glued the backing to it using the fall away piece from the aperture, then recessed it into the aperture.  I used the Especially for You sentiment cut in white and glued it to the centre.  I cut several of the Cosmos Flowers out of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet added to it.  I used Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz on them before assembling them.  I seated them in opposite corners and used the Family Tree cut into pieces as accents.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4"  x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Ohhh my goodness Sue I've never ever used one single powder per sheet, I think its because when they launched the mix and explosion of various colours is what had us enthralled but you've done it again and shown us that using just one powder is equally as powerful and beautiful. I also used one of my older dies yesterday after reading your post - the Italian collection and the Tuscan die, it's for an elderly lady that over a year ago her daughter was given the news her mum had days before she got her wings, I asked after her each month at market and now I've been asked to make another birthday card the 2nd since her daughter was given the news, how incredible so I turned to my older favourites plus my cosmos flowers in vellum it's all 'resting' on my table at the moment as is my hand but I can't wait to get working on it again today.
Guess what I'll be doing later? Yup, a single pixie powder sheet of A4 or maybe several sheets using just one powder I have a feeling there's not going to be any surface showing anywhere today as I must have 20+ powders not many compared to some crafters lol but I'm excited to get going on them later. Whatever you're doing today have as much fun as you can and remember.......

  4. Hello Sue, a gorgeous card. I think all the cosmic shimmer products are wonderful but pixie powders have to be my favourite and I reach for them often but I have never used one on it’s own, must try.

    Good Morning Sue and all.
A beautiful card and I do have the Aqua Lagoon Pixie Powder. I may well sort out a bit more today as I have a crafty friend coming for a visit and I haven't seen her for so long. We usually 'Have a Play' with dies and things.
The whole card of today is lovely and so very soothing.
    Thank you Sue.
    Hugs.

  18. hi Sue and everyone what a vibrant card today stunning and yes I have to agree with the other ladies in saying dont think I have ever just used one pixie powder colour either. I love the lace chantily lace edger and I think I have the Vivian die set too. You need to find a new favourite embossing folder though Sue.
I was wondering the other day, if you had one that looks like a knitted jumper as it would be fabulous on my Christmas cards.
Anyway I digress lol, beautiful card ( except that embossing folder sorry ) and hugs Donna. Stay safe everyone xx

  25. Isn't it strange that no one thought to use just one color at a time, Pixie Powder wise. Quite different looking. Very pretty card and a great embossing folder that I don't have :-( .
Everybody, stay safe and enjoy a beautiful Saturday,
