Hello Sunshine

Hello bloggers!  How about some cheeky flamingos for todays' card!  I started with the Sunrise mask taped to a piece of white card.  I used Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink through the stencil, then went back over and blended in some Spiced Marmalade in the sun area and tips of the rays.  I used the Double Stitched Ovals and made a white frame and attached it with foam over the stenciled background.  I trimmed away the excess from the edges.  I used the Dotty Flourish embossing folder on a piece of white card and attached the frame in the centre.  Next I cut a bunch of the various flamingos from the Tickled Pink die set out of Soft Salmon card.  I used a black sharpie to colour their beaks and yes, I just noticed that I missed colouring the beak of the one in the very front!  Oops!  I cut the wings seperately and glued them on them added the flamingos into the frame, slightly overlapping them.  I cut the Hello Sunshine sentiment out of Soft Salmon and black card.  I used the black as a shadow behind, then glued it in the lower corner of the card.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6"  x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. Hi Sue and all that pop in. If there's one bird that makes me laugh its these fellas, the way they all follow each other back and fourth strutting their clumsy looking legs is just hilarious to watch on wildlife programs, so it's another smile from me thank you.

    Good morning Sue and all,
A gorgeous card I just love Flamingos they remind me so much of the days when George and I were Snowbirds and spent our winters in Florida and summers in Canada. I love the way you have portrayed the birds in a group rushing off somewhere no doubt. Your background is beautiful and so appropriate. The colours are perfect and I thank you for the nostalgia that you have aroused. I must get my mind back to Longridge instead of wallowing in memory lane.
    Thank you so much.

    Morning Sue,
I'm ashamed to say that I have the flamingos die but haven't put it to good use yet. However, today's inspiration has given me the urge to take it out of it's packet and have a play.
Great card. Thankyou!! Hugs xxx Pauline

I like the way you are telling a story with your design. Looks to me like this flamboyance of flamingos is enjoying and soaking up some sunshine to replenish their vitamin D after being in self isolation for so long due to covid-19. LOL Now you know where my mind is currently. Thanks for the inspiration. Hugs

  37. Hello Sue and all
Just love the flamingos and the colours you have used too. Fabulous card. If I thought I could receive the flamingos in a reasonable time I would think about ordering them but am still waiting after 50 days for your beautiful braided lady, I am waiting for 3 parcels from the uk at the moment all over 50 days. Still it makes me use my imagination and revisit some of our beautiful old friends to make the cards I need
This is a very small issue in the scheme of things isn’t it
Hope everyone is keeping well and that the warmer weather over there is helping to lift spirits
    Hugs
