You're Special To Me

Hi bloggers!  I started this card by covering a piece of card with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing off and covered it with Silver Dream Gilding Flakes.  I used a rubit scrubit pad to refine the flakes and remove any excess.  Next I used the Rose Bed embossing folder to emboss it for texture.  I used a Black Soot Distress Oxide pad lightly over the top to pick up the lines in the raised part of the embossing.  I used clear embossing powder over the top and heated it to melt and seal in the black soot ink.  Next I cut the Joanie die in white and added a silver mirror card backing to it.  I stamped the sentiment and cut a small circle frame to go over it and attached it with mounting foam.  I seated it in the centre of the card.  Using a piece of leftover gilded background, I cut flowers from it using the Magnolia Corner extra flower die.  I cut the corner in white and nipped it apart to use as accents for the flowers.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4"  x  8 1/4" in size.

Scroll down to the post before this one to see if your name is on the list of die winners from the blog launch.  There are still quite a few that have not been claimed yet!   All for now, Sue x

  4. Sue - A beautiful design this morning but the thing that stands out most is the expression, these past few weeks have been so worrying and so different and still some way to go before the world starts to feel better but the first thing we do when Particraft loads is log on and it lifts us, brings a smile to our day so although this is a beautiful piece of inspiration the sentiment is returned to you for keeping our lives as normal as possible.

I'm so happy to see so many names that we see every day on the winning list. Most of all CREW TRISH - what a special get well gift for when you can get back to your most favourite thing in the world, I'm so happy for you.
To all our friends that have been so supportive CONGRATULATIONS and enjoy your gift from our special friend.

STAY SAFE KEEP CRAFTING ❤ xxx

  24. Hi Sue. What a great idea for the background. I would have been concerned to run card layered with a sticky sheet through an embossing folder as I thought it might crack the sheet and stick to everything - obviously not or you wouldn't have shown us how to do it! I must give this a try. Thanks for the idea.

Going over the gilded embossed layer with black and then heat embossing with clear powder is truly an amazing technique and certainly accents the dry embossing. Stunning.
